Coherent backscatter causes noise and instability in fiber amplifiers when the wavelength of laser is modulated. We investigate effect frequency, tuning speed, pumping scheme, dopant type, length amplifier gain.
A modular laser platform for an industry-ready strontium atomic clock is developed. Two approaches to reach wavelengths based on thulium-doped fiber lasers are demonstrated, together with a full integration of the new system.
The frequency noise of narrow linewidth fiber l aser c an b e i mproved by addressing resonant longitudinal acoustic waves in the optical cavity. Comprehensive measurements and simulations phonon modes aid understanding mitigating this phenomenon.
Frequency modulation of narrow-linewidth lasers can cause coherent backscattering in cladding-pumped fiber amplifiers. This detrimental effect be observed Tm-based amplifiers and an additional limitation for power scaling applications. We investigate such instabilities Tm- Tm/Ho-doped a wide range design parameters (active length, pumping scheme, dopant type) operation regimes (laser frequency tuning rate, amplifier gain). For each configuration, the backward-propagating (BP) signal is found...
Abstract Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of methacrylic acid (MAA) is challenging. Herein reported a study conditions for facile surface‐initiated ATRP by activator regenerated electron (SI‐ARGET‐ATRP) growth poly‐methacrylic (PMAA) chains from plasma polymer surface bearing surface‐immobilized α‐bromoisobutyryl bromide, with no deoxygenation required. Factors that affect PMAA off the under ARGET‐ATRP are systematically investigated, such as monomer/catalyst ratio, solvent, and,...
Laser cooling is a necessary tool to generate ultracold atoms in magneto-optical traps (MOT), as atomic transitions can be excited with lasers address different energy levels. As these differ for each quantum system, flexibility delivering the right wavelength and power at key viable devices or experiments. In our work, we present custom laser systems edges of thulium emission range improving barium strontium trapping experiments [1]. Two barium's narrow directly addressed 1762 nm 2052 nm,...
