Abstract Solar‐driven evaporation process brings exciting opportunities to recover clean water and resources in a sustainable way from diverse sources like seawater wastewater. Separation membranes, as vital material many environmental energy applications, can contribute significantly this owing their structural features. However, the unique roles of membranes solar evaporator construction design are seldom recognized not summarized yet scientific principles application demands, which forms...

Strong earthquakes and heavy rainfall are recognized as significant triggers of landslides, where the failure characteristics intricately controlled by internal geological conditions slope. This study focuses on investigation two landslides triggered 2013 Minxian-Zhangye earthquake (Mw = 5.9, USGS). These occurred Wamuchi slope, located approximately 22 km east epicenter in Minxian County, Gansu Province. Despite being less than 100 m apart, exhibited significantly different flow sliding...

The final phase of the ICARUS physics program requires a sensitive mass liquid Argon 5000 tons or more. T600 detector stands today as first living proof that such large can be built and imaging technology implemented on scales. After successful completion series technical tests to performed at assembly hall in Pavia, will ready transported into LNGS tunnel. operation allow us (1) develop local infrastructure needed operate our (2) start handling underground argon (3) study background (4)...

Thin-film-composite (TFC) nanofiltration membranes have found wide uses in environment remediation and industrial separation. There is a growing trend to avoid the use of organic solvents toxic chemicals during membrane fabrication. Therefore, aqueous fabrication TFC receives considerable interest as green sustainable process. However, it remains challenging construct defect-free ultrathin film homogeneous phase without assistance an interface. The contra-diffusion process provides special...

Oil/water separation by porous materials has received growing interest over the past years since ever-increasing oily wastewater discharges seriously threaten our living environment. Purification of nano-sized and concentrated emulsions remains a big challenge because sharp flux decline blocking pores fouling surfaces those materials. Herein, we propose solar-driven evaporator possessing thin-film-composite architecture to deal with these two bottlenecks. Inspired plant roots, composes...

In 2013, a Ms 6.6 earthquake occurred at the boundary of Min County and Zhang County, triggering numerous landslides. Notably, two landslides with significantly different sliding characteristics emerged less than 100 m apart in Yongguang Village, County. The eastern landslide was characterized by instability induced seismic inertial forces, whereas western exhibited flow slides triggered liquefaction loess. To further analyze causes these landslides, this study employed 1 depth ground...

Chamaelirium viridiflorum (Melanthiaceae), a new species from southern Jiangxi, China, is described and illustrated. It similar to C. koidzumiana in their ellipitic or ovate leaf blade slender petiole, but differs by its zygomorphic flowers unequal tepals. Besides also shiwandashanensis actinomorphic flowers, distinguished spatulate obovate blade, distinct petiole 0.8–1.1 cm long This has an obvious feature that the color of tepals still greenish at end flowering period.

Forest carbon sinks play an important role in climate change mitigation and adaptation. The Chinese government has demonstrated its proactive approach to addressing by setting development targets for low-carbon transformation making solemn commitments peak emissions before 2030 achieve neutrality 2060. In this article, the Government’s Work Reports Five-Year Plans are used construct index named China’s Climate Change Policy Attention (CCPA), which reflects government’s emphasis on forestry...
