ABSTRACT Biodegradability and resistance from indigenous bacterial communities to dyes were tested using samples both polluted unpolluted surface waters in Buenos Aires. Five selected for the study: Acid Black 210, Direct Orange 39, Malachite Green, Gentian Violet, Alizarin Red. Water quality was assessed by measuring chemical oxygen demand, biochemical Escherichia coli enterococci counts. a respirometric method, while determining minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). No strains capable of...
Abstract We describe 10 cases born to nondiabetic mothers who presented with severe spondylocostal dysostosis (SCD) associated other anomalies, identified among 20,526 malformed liveborn infants from the Spanish Collaborative Study of Congenital Malformations (ECEMC). analyze malformations in SCD, as well all less SCD children MCA patterns unknown cause. Cases were preferentially caudal dysgenesis, diaphragmatic hernia, and central nervous system anomalies. © 1994 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
Abstract We studied 2 sibs, born to consanguineous parents, who presented with an MCA pattern which includes low birthweight, tracheo‐esophageal fistula, duodenal atresia, extrahepatic biliary hypoplastic pancreas, and hypospadias. This constellation of congenital anomalies appears be a previously unreported autosomal recessive syndrome. A computerized search the data files Spanish Collaborative Study Congenital Malformations (ECEMC) identified 3 other unrelated infants intestinal atresias,...
Abstract Lubinsky [Am J Med Genet 3: 23–28, 1987] has suggested that the properties of midline involve early determinative informational processes and are related to midline's position definition body's plane symmetry. Opitz 21: 175‐176, 1985, BD: OAS XXIX(1): 3–37 1993] pointed out laterality sequences represent a developmental field complex. Thus, bilateral left‐sidedness (with asplenia) right‐sidedness polysplenia) have been considered or syndromes if cause is known. Using malformed...
Eighteen cases of amelia in the Spanish Collaborative Study Congenital Malformations (ECEMC) were analyzed epidemiologically. Prevalence at birth was 0.15 per 10,000 newborn infants, which is not different from that reported by other authors. Affected females outnumbered males. When compared with control group, a lower weight, shorter gestation, placental greater frequency single umbilical artery, noncephalic presentation birth, and more frequent maternal vaginal bleeding observed cases....

Introduction:
Chlamydia trachomatis causes the most frequent bacterial Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) in world. Previous results showed that Buenos Aires, Argentina, adolescent pregnant women have an unusually high prevalence of this infection. Our aim was to define frequency C. infection among women, and describe its association pattern.
Methods
Starting on May 2016, voluntary participation for study offered every woman attending Hospital Materno Infantil...
