We present the requirements, design, and evaluation of cryogenic continuously rotating half-wave plate (CHWP) for Simons Observatory (SO). SO is a cosmic microwave background polarization experiment at Parque Astronómico de Atacama in northern Chile that covers wide range angular scales using both small (⌀0.42 m) large (⌀6 aperture telescopes. In particular, telescopes (SATs) focus on primordial B-mode polarization. To this end, SATs employ CHWP to modulate incident light 8 Hz, suppressing...
Zero kinetic energy electron spectra of aniline are recorded and a number ion vibrational frequencies accurately measured. The adiabatic ionization potential is found to be 62 271±2 cm−1. Ab initio calculations provide insights into the bonding changes that take place in upon ionization. Reasonable agreement between calculated measured ground states neutral obtained.
The positive ion electrospray mass spectra of the quaternary ammonium salt herbicides paraquat and diquat are examined by on-line separation with capillary electrophoresis (CE) direct infusion analytes. analytes separated CE in 7–10 min at pH 3.9 50% methanol-water using several different buffer electrolytes. electrophoresis-electrospray ionization (CE-ES) consist primarily doubly charged molecular ions, singly deprotonated ions. ions relative abundances depend strongly on presence or...
In order to study the effect of photoelectron kinetic energy on rotational photoionization propensity rules, rotationally resolved laser spectra were measured for excitation specific rovibronic levels in D 2Σ+ (3pσ) Rydberg state NO and their subsequent ionization by radiation at several wavelengths. The calculated ion branching ratios both show a significant dependence energy. Comparison between experimental data theoretical calculations suggests that strong ΔN=0 peak is caused an...
ZEKE spectra of propylaniline were recorded by exciting 13 vibronic levels in the S1 electronic state. All show well resolved vibrational structure anti and gauche cations. Adiabatic ionization potentials conformations determined to be 59 717±3 cm−1 (7.4040 eV) 793±3 (7.4134 eV), respectively. A number ring modes as several low-frequency torsional bending chain have been identified. Spectra demonstrate that are sensitive molecular conformation. Ab initio calculations performed understand...
The negative ion electrospray mass spectra of six bromo- and chloroacetic acids were measured using two different interfaces single quadrupole bench-top time-of-flight spectrometers. With each acid at 50 microg/mL in aqueous methanol pH 10, the anions observed included deprotonated molecules, adducts, fragment ions. 100 ng/mL acetonitrile mainly molecules are observed. exact m/z measuring capability spectrometer was evaluated to assess potential for determination individual mixtures without...
