Two spiro-OMeTAD analogues featuring a spiro[fluorene-9,9-xanthene] central core have been designed and applied in PSCs as dopant-free HTLs. The device based on SP-SMe reveals better performance operational stability than the spiro-OMeTAD-based device.

For the first time, we present detailed synthesis, photophysical, electrochemical, host-guest and charge transport properties of spiro[fluorene-9,9'-xanthene] (SFX) carbazole macrocycle SPS-NR-02. The electron hole values measured using space limited current (SCLC) method resulted in ambipolar with an to mobility ratio 0.39.
