Abstract Piezoelectric (PZT) stack actuators are widely used in many fields due to the advantages such as small stroke and high force output. However, failures of one or more PZT layers may exist stacks then have influences on their performances. This paper investigates dynamic responses normal partially failed actuators, order evaluate a layer at different positions furthermore explore rules, which is great significance for understanding improving performances actuators. Firstly, group...
Research on evaluating weapon systems, building structures, and personnel protection has attracted considerable attention due to the high incidence of blast accidents. The explosively driven shock tube is an affordable replicable method for investigating pressure waves extreme environments. A newly constructed large caliber with inner diameter 2.5 m a length 18 been documented characterized in this paper. It capable providing peak at least 5.49 MPa test section 160 kg TNT charges. can...
The mechanical properties of two rubber materials, RB-55 and FM-32 foam rubber, were tested under quasistatic dynamic compressive loadings with a universal testing machine nonmetallic split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB), respectively. results show that the hyperelasticity dominates characteristics both materials. And strain rate dependencies can be observed over wide range from 10-2 s-1 to order 103 s-1. But in rather narrow bands 10-2—100 2 • —6 s-1, effects are not significant. In...
Based on ideal compressible magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations, the interface instabilities induced by interaction between planar shock wave and light gas (Helium) cylinder under influence of magnetic fields with different directions are investigated numerically using CTU(corner transport upwind)+CT (constrained transport) algorithm. The numerical results elucidate evolution flow field characteristics structures without field. Moreover, we examine direction a characteristic scales...
Experimental research and numerical simulations of the structural response to shock waves with pulse durations hundreds milliseconds, or even seconds, are extremely challenging. This paper takes typical single-layer sandwich cylindrical shells as objects. The rules under long-duration blast loadings were studied. results show that when duration is greater than equal 4~5 times first-order period structure, maximum structure tends be consistent, is, different vibration shapes shows a...
Abstract When a three-axis dynamic centrifuge is used to test the performance of inertial equipment (accelerometer, gyroscope, gyro-accelerometer, etc), accurate estimating acceleration at sensing position tested sensors key step. To solve problem lack relevant suitable methods, first, principle rigid body kinematics prove that each point on changes linearly with respect position. Subsequently, matrix transformation method for accurately measuring field presented. In this method,...
In order to ensure the reliability and accuracy of long-term temperature measurement where thermometers are discommodious or even impossible access for conventional periodical calibration, a study on miniaturized in-situ self-calibrated (MISSC) based Ga Ga-Zn fixed points was conducted using scale transfer technology. One MISSC thermometer consists three parts: first is fixed-points hardware, including container with two cells separately filled Ga-Zn; second sensing made Type T thermocouple;...
Stress uniformity along the axial direction in specimens of split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) tests was investigated. By theory one-dimensional elastic stress wave, temporal and spatial distribution specimen induced by incident pulses with any rising shape derived. Wave propagation processes were calculated under rectangular, trapezoidal sloping waves, which uniquely expressed as type parameter rise time. histories obtained, influences relative time pulse specimen-bar mechanical impedance...
