ABSTRACT
Despite progresses made in oncology, pancreatic adenocarcinoma has a grim prognosis and commonly presents with rapidly advancing jaundice which requires endoscopic treatment. AIM Our objective was to show the perspective of high ERCP volume dedicated Center on stenting for malignant biliary obstruction consecutive cancer. METHODS We conducted retrospective study, between October 2017 2020, enrolled hospitalized patients within Gastroenterology Department Clinical Emergency Hospital Bucharest, diagnosed cancer secondary underwent stenting. RESULTS identified 269 were admitted our Clinic lesion computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging EUS-FNA. 115 proven malignancy selected 69 received plastic stents 46 metal stents, stent chosen based patient's characteristics availability at time procedure. Per total 234 used relief cholestasis syndrome. The number procedures higher group median 1,8 whereas SEMS had 1,5 range procedures. Procedures successful 54 following 33 that SEMS. At 30 days, overall mortality rate 5%. CONCLUSIONS Malignant is amenable by ERCP. However, choosing right still varies. seem be more efficient long term fewer complications rates further studies should performed.
