Ploidy level of the representatives of Chenopodiaceae based on genome size and chromosome numbers

ABSTRACT
The article presents the results of measuring genome size (DNA content in nuclei) by flow cytometry and determining ploidy level for 30 species Chenopodiaceae family 50 natural populations from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan South Korea. Genome 12 was determined first time; they are: Atriplex patens, A. pedunculata, sibirica, verrucifera, Axyris amaranthoides, Camphorosma songorica, Ceratocarpus arenarius, Chenopodium vachellii, Corispermum declinatum, Oxybasis gubanovii, Salsola collina, Spirobassia hirsuta. Along with cytometric analysis, 13 (Atriplex prostrata, Bassia album, C. betaceum, frutescens, karoi, luteorubrum, novopokrovskianum, strictum s. l., Krascheninnikovia ceratoides, gubanovii) 23 direct chromosome counting. 11 studied two or more populations. It shown that differences samples different part area did not exceed 5 % diploids sagittata, sibirica) tetraploids ceratoides). Two cytotypes were identified prostrata: diploid Republic Altai tetraploid Novosibirsk Region. A cytotype sosnovskyi revealed Armenia. can be a reliable criterion to determine related taxa Chenopodiaceae.
