ABSTRACT
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an age-related neurodegenerative linked with increased production and/or deposition of amyloid-beta (Aβ) in the brain. The aim present study was to investigate possible neuroprotective effect troxerutin on animal model disease. Alzheimer induced by a single dose intracerebroventricular (ICV) injection Aβ 1-42 (5 nmol/5 µl). Thereafter, (300 mg/kg) gavaged for 14 days. hippocampal malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and enzymatic activities superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), acetylcholinesterase (AChE) were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. In addition, number apoptotic cells dentate gyrus (DG) assessed TUNEL kit. results showed that ICV microinjection MDA levels, reduced SOD GPx, AChE hippocampus. Chronic administration significantly attenuated activity GPx Moreover, decreased treatment. Taken together, our demonstrated could increase resistance neurons against apoptosis, at least part, diminishing oxidative stress. Therefore, may have beneficial effects management
