ABSTRACT
Objective To evaluate the feasibility of ETView visual endotracheal intubation in elderly patients with a potentially difficult airway under general anesthesia. Methods A total 80 scheduled for elective surgery, at least three characteristics indicative an increased risk tracheal and aged 65-86 years American Society Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade Ⅱ or Ⅲ, were selected randomly assigned into 2 groups: control group (Group C) E) (n=40 each). After induction propofol 0.5-1.5 mg/kg, sufentanil 0.2 μg/kg, rocuronium 0.6mg/kg, regular conducted Group C E respectively. Blood pressure heart rate recorded before (T0), initial (T1), successful (T2), 5min after (T3). Duration catheterization, number attempts, first attempt complications within days also recorded. Results The duration catheterization attempts lower than C〔(34±6) s vs. (48±22) s, (1.0±0.0) (1.4±0.4), t=2.484 2.373, respectively, P=0.017 0.023, respectively〕. The was higher (100% 40 cases 75% 30 cases), χ2=5.714, P=0.017). There no significant difference hemodynamic changes postoperative hoarseness between two groups (P>0.05 both). Conclusions ETView shows excellent safety anesthesia, shorter intubation. Key words: Intubation, intratracheal; Anesthesia,
