ABSTRACT
Objective To evaluate the association of BRAF V600E mutation with sonographic features in patients papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods A consecutive series 61 carcinoma(PTC) was evaluated by US and elastography before US-FNA, surgery. The PTCs were categorized into 2 groups according to results mutation, BRAF-positive BRAF-negative patients. The compared between patients. Results The detected 82% (50 61). There no significant difference PTC on including nodular size, echogenicity, shape, margin, calcification pattern blood flow. However prevalence a score higher than 4 Hong et al 72% (36/50) group, significantly 36.4%(4/11) group(P=0.024). A correlated highly diagnosis (sensitivity 72.0%, specificity 63.6%, positive predictive value 90.0%, negative 33.3%, accuracy 70.5% OR 4.5). Conclusions The associated classification, could predict occurrence cancer. Key words: Ultrasonography; Thyroid neoplasms; Biopsy, fine-needle; BRAF
