The surgical experience of orbital tumors

ABSTRACT
Objective To analyze the surgical characteristics and skills of various orbital tumors,so to improve rate success,and reduce complications. Methods A total 112 cases (2-75 years old,an average 30.1 years; male:70 cases,female:42 cases) lesions were analyzed,including 26 cavernous hemangioma,17 schwannomas,14 inflammatory pseudotumor,11 dermoid cyst,10 pleomorphic adenoma lacrimal glan,9 lymphoma,8venous angioma,7 adenoidcysticcarcinom,4 osteom,3 vascular tumors,and 3 meningioma. Results The diagnosis quality location made according preoperative imaging examination,the relation between normal tissues understood,and risks complications appraised.The approach:anterior orbitotomy (transderma transconjuctiva) 76cases,lateral 29 cases,and transcranial 7 cases.The process operation:for hemangioma,the lesion was punctured incised size tumor.The stripping off within capsule for schwannomas.As cysts,cystic walls cut after absorbing contents cyst.For venous angioma,the tightly along edge reducing tumor.For pseudotumor,the partly in case injuring tissues.After operation,visual acuity improved 37 cases,unchanged 56,decreased 19; 16 with ptosis,15 abnormal oculomotor,and 10 enophthalmos. Conclusion be familiar local anatomy is key surgery.For most tumors,the qualitative can before operation which have great value plan appraisal so as effect life patients.
