The current status of peptic ulcer hemorrhage in upper digestive tract in elderly patients and its influencing factors

ABSTRACT
Objective To provide support for clinical treatment and effective prevention of ulcer hemorrhage in upper digestive tract by exploring the current status this condition elderly people possible influencing factors.Methods The data on 331 patients who had been diagnosed our hospital during period January 2008 to December 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.The divided into group (≥60 years,114 patients) non-elderly (< 60 years,217 according their ages.The etiologies coexisting diseases analyzed then compared between two groups.Results rate or more was higher than (50.88% vs.16.13%,P<0.01).The rates mental stress overstrain history smoking alcohol drinking group,with a significant statistical difference (P<0.01).The Helicobacter pylori infection (44.74% vs.61.75%,P<0.01).The percentage taking antihypertensive drugs,anticoagulant drugs,or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) alone combination therapy (P<0.01).Conclusions Active underlying diseases,rational uses drugs,NSAIDs,and anticoagulant agents are important significance tract.
