ABSTRACT
Objectives To investigate the status of self-monitoring blood glucose(SMBG) in adults with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM) Guangdong Province, and to explore its related factors. Methods Adults T1DM from Type Diabetes Translational Study were enrolled this cross-over survey 2010 2014. Demographic data clinical information(frequency SMBG (SMBG-F) record diabetic education) was collected. After grouped by SMBG-F, linear trend among SMBG-F groups analyzed one-way analysis variance(continuous data) or χ2 test (categorical for trend. Spearmen rank correlation used evaluate relation between glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c). Then factors multinomial Logistic regression model. Results A total 869 T1DM, disease duration over year enrolled. The mean frequency (0.90±0.29) times daily. Among them, 21.5% patients hardly ever performed SMBG, only 6.0% perform ≥ 4 A significant negative observed HbA1c(r=-0.242, P=0.00). Gender (χ2=7.37, P=0.025), education levels resident regions (χ2=19.41, P=0.000) previous received on (χ2=17.39,P=0.001) SMBG. Conclusion The fails meet recommendations guideline, differs Province. Strengthening may exert beneficial effect achieving glycemic target T1DM. Key words: Diabetes mellitus, 1; Self-monitoring glucose; Cross-sectional investigation
