ABSTRACT
A novel method for automated assessment of directions collagen fibers in soft tissues is presented. It based on multiple rotated images obtained via polarized light microscope with perpendicular and inclined polarizers thus it breaks the limitation 90° periodicity intensity evaluates fiber orientation over whole 180° range accurately quickly. After having verified method, we used histological specimens porcine Achilles tendon aorta to validate proposed algorithm lower number needed evaluation. Our capable analyze 5.10^5 pixels one micrograph a few seconds powerful cheap tool image analysis such samples promising broad application.
