Campotodactyly-artrhropathy-coxa vara-pericarditis (CACP) syndrome is a very rare autosomal recessive genetic disorder. It characterized by flexion contracture of the fifth finger (camptodactyly); noninflammatory arthropathy; decreased angle between shaft and head femur (coxa vara) pericarditis. Its association with mitral stenosis has not yet been reported. Hereby we report this unique CACP syndrome.

Background and aim: In patients undergoing congenital cardiac surgery, it is crucial to maintain oxygen demand-consumption balance. Central venous saturation (ScvO2) a useful indicator of demand consumption balance which an invasive method. Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) noninvasive, continuous monitoring technique that measures regional tissue oxygenation. NIRS placed over the internal jugular vein cutaneous area (NIRSijv) has potential show ScvO2 indirectly. this study, we aimed...

Abstract In complex cardiovascular surgical reconstructions, conduit materials that avoid possible large-scale structural deformations should be considered. A fundamental mode of mechanical complication is torsional buckling which occurs at the anastomosis site due to instability, leading conduit/patch surface deformation. The objective this study investigate behavior commonly used and develop a practical method for estimating critical rotation angle under physiological intramural vessel...

In non-addicted patients, several states such as alcoholism, previous valvular heart disease or prosthetic valve replacement, immunodeficiency states, prolonged intravenous hyperalimentation, permanent pacemakers, and some congenital diseases can provide the predisposing factors for tricuspid endocarditis. It is an extremely rare occurrence in patients with normal native cardiac valves. this report, we present a case of 67-year-old woman endocarditis related to Candida parapsilosis which...

Transcatheter device implantation has become an attractive alternative to surgery in the closure of atrial septal defects selected patients. However, it can lead early and late sequelae, some them life threatening.
