Abstract The spectral and angular properties of diffracted transition radiation (DTR) parametric (PXR) in the ultrasoft X-ray region generated by periodic structure upon interaction with a relativistic electron beam energy 5.7 MeV are numerically studied using sample [ Mo/Si ] 50 , known as multilayer mirror. Based on calculations, an experimental approach is proposed to separate identify contributions PXR DTR. can be used eliminate coherent effects occurring optical range when diagnosing...
As is generally known, the integral of electric field strength over all time for usual (bipolar) radiation zero. The first demonstration possibility unipolar generation has been considered theoretically by Bessonov in 1981 [E.G. Bessonov, Zh. Eksp. Teor. Fiz. 80 (1981) 852]. According to this work, (or strange electromagnetic waves) which entire duration a pulse differs significantly from Later, several theoretical papers devoted phenomenon have appeared literature, where authors...
Coherent Čerenkov radiation generated by the 6.1 MeV bunched electron beam travelling near dielectric target (teflon) have been investigated theoretically and experimentally. It has shown that longitudinal bunch form-factor plays important role in characteristics of coherent radiation. We also compared ones diffraction from a metal similar conditions is more intensive. These facts make promising mechanism for new noninvasive diagnostic technique.
The high-intensity and monochromatic radiation sources in the water window spectral range are desirable for many applications. One of potential candidates soft X-ray is polarization produced by a charged particle passing through thin foil. In near absorption edges target material, real part dielectric permittivity can exceed unity, Tamm–Frank criterion fulfilled. Thus, two types produced: transition Cherenkov radiation. this report, we theoretically investigated characteristics both cases...
Different types of polarization radiation generated by a relativistic electron beam are simulated using fully electromagnetic particle-in-cell (PIC) code KARAT. The simulation results for diffraction radiation, transition Smith-Purcell and Vavilov-Cherenkov in good agreement with experimental data analytical models. Modern PIC is tool to check predict results.
Electron beams of most accelerators have a bunched structure and are synchronized with the accelerating RF field. Due to modulation electron beam frequency ν one can expect observe resonances frequencies k=k⋅ in radiation spectrum generated via any spontaneous emission mechanism (k is an integer resonance order). In this paper we present results spectral measurements coherent transition (CTR) by bunch train from Tomsk microtron RF=2.63GHz range 8 35 GHz. We also measured diffraction...
Contribution of Cherenkov radiation and Diffraction when electrons are moving close to a dielectric prism for different angles the face in respect electron beam direction was experimentally investigated. The comparison experimental results with calculations using known theoretical model shows significant discrepancy angular dependence orientation angles. analysis causes performed. experiment performed on relativistic energy 6.2 MeV Tomsk Polytechnic University.
In this research, we study changes of 3D-printed samples made PLA, ABS, and HIPS plastics under irradiation by 6 MeV electron beam in air with doses up to 1.5 kGy. We compared mechanical structural properties original irradiated plastic samples. It is shown that absorption the not changing during process for all Mechanical testing revealed no compressive stress, elastic modulus bending stress ABS after irradiation. Testing demonstrates thermograms investigated polymers before do have notable...
In this paper, we want to show how obtain information about the spectrum of runaway electrons with kinetic energy in range T≈ 0.25–2 MeV using Cherenkov radiation (ChR). We use a quartz target as radiator which is tilted so that generated optical photons can leave it. Electrons are light charged particles and such process multiple scattering has significant influence on ChR angular distribution since it blur ChR. spite fact, be obtained by deconvolving distribution.
Abstract A preliminary study of the use high-current repetitively pulsed electrons accelerator SINUS-320 for sterilization cocoa powder was conducted through statistical simulations. It shown that generator allowed effective with a layer thickness 5–7 mm when operating at accelerating voltages 550 kV. The modelling using GEANT4 simulation toolkit. results are presented as dependence radiation dose on depth exposure.
