Abstract Objective Lipoid congenital adrenal hyperplasia (LCAH) is caused by mutations in STAR . A systematic review of phenotype–genotype correlation and data on testicular histology LCAH patients unavailable. We aim to describe our experience provide correlation. Design, Patients Measurements Retrospective three genetically proven from centre per‐patient analysis a 292 probands. The phenotypic subgroups 46,XY were Group (typical female genitalia), B (atypical genitalia) C male genitalia)....

We present 2 cases, one with benign struma ovarii that was diagnosed preoperatively on Tc- 99 m and I-131 scans another of malignant peritoneal metastases were detected postoperatively 18 F-FDG PET/CT post-radioiodine (I-131) therapy scans. Benign ovarri had a rare occurrence coexisting Graves’ disease, while demonstrated involvement functional imaging. Even though rare, can contrasting features may require extensive workup, including radioiodine as shown in these cases.

Abstract Background Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) in association with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) may result increased glycemic variability affecting the control and hence increasing risk of complications associated diabetes. We decided to assess Glycemic Variability (GV) patients type diabetes OSAS controls. also correlated respiratory disturbance indices indices. Methods After fulfilling inclusion exclusion criteria from Endocrinology Pulmonology clinics underwent modified...

Pheochromocytoma is a chromaffin cell-derived adrenal medullary tumour and usually presents with paroxysms of hypertension, palpitations, sweating headache due to excessive catecholamine release. These tumours can also secrete variety bioactive neuropeptides hormones other than catecholamines, resulting in unusual clinical manifestations. We report female her mid-30s who presented fever, anaemia, thrombocytosis markedly elevated inflammatory markers. The fever profile, including cultures,...

Background Late dinner (LD) can worsen the glucose profile in type 2 diabetes (T2D). We assessed short-term effect of early (ED) on glycemic control habitual late eaters with uncontrolled T2D. Methodology This interventional, single-arm, within-group trial recruited 10 T2D (glycosylated hemoglobin: 7-9% and either fasting plasma (FPG): ≥140 mg/dl or post-prandial glucose: ≥200 mg/dl). They had their usual LD (beyond 22:00 hours) Days 0-3 ED (before 20:00 4-10. Continuous monitoring system...

The effect and mechanism of skipping breakfast on glycemic control in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) Asian-Indians is unknown. Cross-over, within-group study recruiting 5 habitual eaters (BE) skippers (BS) with uncontrolled T2DM (HbA1c 7-9%). Patients underwent testing after three days following their usual habits seven crossing over to the other arm. Fasting values incremental area under curve (iAUC0-180) post-lunch levels glucose, insulin, C-peptide, glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1),...

Objective: There is a lack of consensus on the optimal screening strategy for insulin resistance (IR), particularly in lean PCOS. We, therefore, estimated glucose and excursions, IR, sensitivity (IS), beta-cell function (ßF) looked surrogate markers IR 5-point oral tolerance test (OGTT) PCOS subjects. Design: Cross-sectional study Patient(s): 80 subjects age BMI - matched controls. Intervention(s) : 75-gram OGTT (0, 30, 60, 90,120 minutes) was performed after clinical anthropometric...

Background: In the urban setting, dinner is main meal of day and higher calories later at night may adversely affect glycemic control. We aimed to assess effect early on control in habitual late eaters with uncontrolled T2DM terms fasting plasma glucose (FPG) levels continuous monitoring (CGMS) parameters. Methods: Prospective interventional crossover study recruiting participants from a tertiary care center. included adult patients (HbA1c 7-9% either FPG ³140 mg/dl or post-prandial ³ 200...

Hyperreactio luteinalis (HRL) is characterised by benign enlargement of ovaries in pregnancy associated with hyperandrogenism. A 19-year-old primigravida presented breathlessness, abdominal distension and vomiting the thirteenth week gestation. Abdominal examination revealed abdomen disproportionate to gestational age. Ultrasound was suggestive bilaterally enlarged multicystic a characteristic “spoke-wheel” pattern diagnosis HRL made. Laboratory investigations primary hypothyroidism elevated...
