A 3D hierarchical Mn3O4nanoflake structure supported on nitrogenated reduced graphene oxide (NrGO), with excellent oxygen reduction in alkaline medium, was developed by electrodeposition. High performance is attributed to poor nanoflake crystallinity and strong nanoflake–NrGO coupling.

We show that a partially reduced graphene oxide electrocatalyst, synthesized by electrochemical reduction of (GO), displays significantly enhanced catalytic activity towards the oxygen reaction (ORR) in alkaline solutions compared to starting GO. The partial GO was confirmed X-ray diffraction and photoelectron spectroscopy. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) verified electron transfer ability electrochemically (ErGO) resultant ErGO electrode showed capacitance an ORR onset...

The global spread of antibiotic resistance among Enterobacteriaceae is largely due to multidrug plasmids that can transfer between different bacterial strains and species. Horizontal gene complicate hospital outbreaks cause problems in epidemiological tracing, since tracing usually based on clonality. We have developed a method, optical DNA mapping combined with Cas9-assisted identification genes, which used here characterize during an extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing outbreak...

Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) have been used as signal reporters in colorimetric lateral flow immunoassays (LFAs) for decades. However, it remains a major challenge to significantly improve the detection sensitivity of traditional LFAs due low brightness AuNPs. As an alternative approach, we overcome this problem by utilizing 150 nm gold nanoshells (AuNSs) that were engineered coating low-density silica with thin layer gold. AuNSs are dark green, 14 times larger surface area, and approximately 35...

A colloidal gold-based lateral flow immunoassay was developed for the rapid quantitative detection of Cystatin-C in serum and whole blood. This device has an assay time 15 min, making it a convenient point-of-care diagnostic tool. The quantification range spanning from 0.5 to 7.5 µg/mL, with lower limit at 0.18 µg/mL. To validate its accuracy, test compared standard nephelometric immunoassay, results exhibited robust linear correlation adjusted r

The output from whole genome sequencing is a set of contigs, i.e. short non-overlapping DNA sequences (sizes 1-100 kilobasepairs). Piecing the contigs together an especially difficult task for previously unsequenced DNA, and may not be feasible due to factors such as lack sufficient coverage or larger repetitive regions which generate gaps in final sequence. Here we propose new method scaffolding contigs. proposed uses densely labeled optical barcodes competitive binding experiments...

This paper presents a plasma display device (PDD) based on laser-induced graphene nanoribbons (LIGNs), which were directly fabricated polyimide sheets. Superior field electron emission (FEE) characteristics, viz. low turn-on of 0.44 V/μm and large enhancement factor 4578, achieved for the LIGNs. Utilizing LIGNs as cathode in PDD showed excellent illumination characteristics with prolonged lifetime stability. Moreover, LIGN cathodes laser-patternable.
