Purpose: Video match analysis is used for the assessment of physical performances professional soccer players, particularly identification "high intensities" considered as running speeds." However, accelerations are also essential elements setting metabolic loads, even when speed low. We propose a more detailed players' demands by video with aim taking into account accelerations. Methods: A recent study showed that accelerated on flat terrain equivalent to uphill at constant speed, incline...
Analysis of fetal electrocardiogram (f-ECG) waveforms as well heart-rate (fHR) evaluation provide important information about the condition fetus during pregnancy. A continuous monitoring f-ECG, for example using technologies already applied adults ECG tele-monitor-ing (e.g., Wireless Body Sensor Networks (WBSNs)), may increase early detection arrhythmias. In this study, we propose a novel framework, based on compressive sensing (CS) theory, compression and joint detection/classification...
The stress in a driver, happening during unforeseen events or taxing situations, is linked to subject's sympathetic system response. We present which detects the presence car drivers through analysis of an endosomatic Electrodermal Activity (EDA) signal, namely, Skin Potential Response (SPR), coupled with Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal. To log these signals we utilize device records SPR from each hand and ECG chest. In case since hands movement injects motion artifacts, also algorithm that...
Objective: Compressive sensing (CS) has recently been applied as a low-complexity compression framework for long-term monitoring of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals using wireless body sensor networks. Long-term recording ECG can be useful diagnostic purposes and to monitor the evolution several widespread diseases. In particular, beat-to-beat intervals provide important clinical information, these derived from signal by computing distance between QRS complexes (R-peaks). Numerous methods...
in this paper we propose a system to detect subject's sympathetic reaction, which is related unexpected or challenging events during car drive.we use the Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal and Skin Potential Response (SPR) signal, has several advantages with respect other Electrodermal (EDA) signals. We record one SPR for each hand, an algorithm that, selecting smoother able remove motion artifacts. extract statistical features from ECG signals order classify segments identify presence absence...
The evaluation of car drivers’ stress condition is gaining interest as research on Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS) progresses. analysis the response can be used to assess acceptability ADS and compare driving styles different autonomous drive algorithms. In this contribution, we present a system based Electrodermal Activity Skin Potential Response (SPR) signal, aimed reveal driver’s induced by situations. We reduce motion artifacts processing two SPR signals, recorded from hands subjects,...
This work proposes a random numbers generator for application in the field of secure communications. In order to get truly unpredictable sequences chaotic system is used. Indeed, due their extreme sensitivity initial conditions, systems lend themselves be exploited generation numbers. explores this possibility: particularly an efficient architecture, based on pipeline analog-to-digital converter, has been singled out, realize simple circuit arrangement number generator. According simulation...
Compressive Sensing (CS) is a newly introduced signal processing technique that enables to recover sparse signals from fewer samples than the Shannon sampling theorem would typically require. It based on assumption that, for signal, small collection of linear measurements contains enough information allow its reconstruction. Combining acquisition and compression stages, CS very promising develop ultra low power wireless bio-signal monitoring systems. In this paper we present framework ECG...
This manuscript addresses the problem of non-invasive fetal Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal acquisition with low power/low complexity sensors. A sensor architecture using Compressive Sensing (CS) paradigm is compared to a standard compression scheme wavelets in terms energy consumption vs. reconstruction quality, and, more importantly, performance heart beat detection reconstructed signals. We show this paper that CS based on an over-complete dictionary has similar quality one wavelet...
In the automotive industry, it is important to evaluate different car setups in order match a professional driver's preference or most acceptable setup for drivers. Therefore, of great significance devise objective and automatic procedures assess response settings. this work, we analyze physiological signals how particular can be more less stressful than others. detail, record an endosomatic Electrodermal Activity (EDA) signal, called Skin Potential Response (SPR), Electrocardiogram (ECG)...
When designing a car, the vehicle dynamics and handling are important aspects, as they can satisfy purpose in professional racing, well contributing to driving pleasure safety, real perceived, regular drivers. In this paper, we focus on assessment of emotional response drivers while track with different car setups. The experiments were performed using dynamic simulator prearranged We recorded various physiological signals, allowing us analyze which setup is more influential terms stress...
Most of latest-generation multimedia systems are equipped with increasingly-effective object detection algorithms (e.g., intelligent video surveillance systems, augmented reality applications, sharing platforms for data, etc.). Unfortunately, images and usually available in compressed formats, which makes more difficult because the additional distortion noise. In this paper we show that it is possible to mitigate problem by introducing a rate allocation algorithm preserves important details...
Compressive sensing (CS) approaches to electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis provide efficient methods for real time encoding of cardiac activity. In doing so, it is important assess the downstream effect compression on any signal processing and classification algorithms. CS particularly suitable low power wearable devices, thanks its low-complex digital or hardware implementation that directly acquires a compressed version through random projections. this work, we evaluate impact atrial...
It is well known that the output of chaotic systems can be completely predicted from exert knowledge initial conditions. However, their extreme sensitivity to conditions lends itself being exploited for generation random numbers. This work explores this possibility and gives a simple circuit arrangement, together with tools necessary assess characteristics its output. The fact statistical system determined through spectral analysis an evolution operator shown. Numerical techniques practical...
The widespread of augmented reality applications, cognitive video surveillance, autonomous or supportive navigation systems, has increased the importance accurate object detection algorithms. However, presence noise depending on characteristics acquisition device, lighting intensity and directions, weather conditions, could severely degrade performance such applications. As a matter fact, effective ad-hoc denoising strategies are required since traditional removal algorithms designed to...
Redundant bases or frames are a promising technique for multiple description signal coding. Frames can provide sufficient redundancy recovery in case of coefficient losses due, instance, to packet transmission errors. In this paper we present a wavelet domain distributed coder for video which allows scalability and does not require any feedback channel. Efficient coding is obtained by processing the transform with suitable "folding" function compressing folded coefficients coder. At receiver side, use statistical properties between similar frames to recover compressed frame. Experimental results show that she proposed scheme has good performance when compared asymmetric compression schemes.
