We have synthesized the novel composite membranes composed of sulfonated polyimide nanofibers and for proton exchange membrane fuel cell. It was clear that polyimides within nanofiber were significantly oriented or aggregated when electrospun; as result, stability, such oxidative hydrolytic stabilities, improved with an increase in nanofiber, oxygen permeability also decreased compared to determined without nanofibers. In addition, conductivity parallel direction indicated a higher value...
The cAMP-responsive transcription factor, CREB, is required for formation of long-term memory (LTM) in Drosophila melanogaster and regulates a circadian clock gene, period ( per ). Involvement CREB both LTM rhythm raises the possibility that also plays role LTM. Assaying experience-dependent courtship inhibition male flies as measure LTM, we show here mutants are defective formation. This defect was rescued by induction wild-type transgene -null mutant, overexpression enhanced background....
The atomic structure of a Zr60Al15Ni25 amorphous alloy in the as-quenched state which exhibitis wide supercooled liquid region and high reduced glass transition temperature was studied from environmental structures Zr Ni determined by anomalous X-ray scattering (AXS) method combination with ordinary diffraction. this particular annealed super-cooled also investigated. It found that arrangements Al atoms around differ markedly those crystallized sample. This indicates large change environment...
We comprehensively calculated the photonic bands of waveguide modes in practical lattice-shifted crystal waveguides, which are completely cladded by silica. assumed various lattice shifts and found that shift second rows mixed first third along generate low-dispersion slow light with group indices 34-36, is higher than those a conventional rows, maintaining wide bandwidth over 10 nm at telecom wavelengths. fabricated waveguides using CMOS-compatible process confirmed correspondence...
Vanadium-based BCC alloys are known to absorb a high amount of protium. But, they do not desorb absorbed-protium completely. This paper aims clarify the effects alloy composition and heat-treatment on protium absorption-desorption properties Ti-(0–35) at%V–Cr alloys.A Ti–35V–40Cr was chosen as starting composition. The plateau pressure Ti–35V–(40+x)Cr (x=−3, 0, 3) increased with increasing Cr content. For containing more than 15 at%V, phase formed in as-cast state, which found have an...
Optical modulators for optical interconnects require a small size, voltage, high speed and wide working spectrum. For this purpose, we developed Si slow-light Mach-Zehnder via 180 nm complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor process. We employed 200 μm lattice-shifted photonic crystal waveguides with interleaved p-n junctions as phase shifters. The group index spectrum of slow light was almost flat at ng ≈ 20 but exhibited ±10% fluctuation over wavelength bandwidth nm. cutoff frequency...
Abstract Crystalline homopolymers, including polyethylene (PE), which has the simplest architecture, form a nanometer‐sized combination of crystalline and amorphous components, but their arrangement control, similar to self‐assembled phase‐separation block‐copolymers, is usually difficult. However, molecular entanglements trapped between components homopolymers coincide with segmental linking points on interfaces microphase separation for block copolymers. Nanowrinkled PE membranes are...
The static magnetic field and the alternating electric were simultaneously imposed on melt of Al-7%Si hypo-eutectic alloy, primary α-dendrite particles refined by electromagnetic vibrations during solidification. refinement mechanism was quantitatively investigated in terms vibration intensity. When intensity increased, coarse equiaxed dendrite decreased, α-dendrites approached a globular shape that size about 25 μm diameter. By contrast, arm spacing (DAS) remained intrinsically unchanged...
Electromagnetic vibrations, which are the interaction between a static magnetic field and an alternating electric field, were applied to structural refinement of Al-17%Si hyper-eutectic alloy. The relationship intensity frequency electromagnetic vibrations primary silicon particles is quantitatively investigated. In range from 10 Hz 30 kHz, vibration near 1 kHz was most effective for particles, sizes up approximately 5 μm refined at that frequency. level increased with increasing vibrations....
The gravity die casting of the AC4C aluminum alloy was conducted when mechanical vibration incorporated. specimen with a specification 25 mm in diameter and 210 length were solidified at various frequencies so as to examine effect on grain size, defect distribution, properties. In comparison grains formed as-cast state without vibration, inner area became finer after vibration. columnar structure remained its outer region under all frequency. average density increased by imposition defects...
