Abstract Tetrapod-like ZnO particles having four legs shorter than a micrometre have been observed by transmission electron microscopy and diffractometry. The are composed of six or more wurtzite-type elements. Four them make others form (1122) twins with the legs. Particles only also to three (1124) among them. We propose growth model that tetrapod-like particle grows from multiple induced in zincblende-type nucleus, taking account combination slips caused at phase transformation.
We report measurements of the de Haas-van Alphen effect in ZrZn2 under hydrostatic pressures up to 21 kbar where Curie temperature vanishes. The exchange splitting a Fermi surface changes behavior with increasing magnetic field, which is qualitatively consistent high-field magnetization, suggesting existence crossover between two distinct states. These and previously unexplained findings may be understood terms p-T-B phase diagram similar that ferromagnetic superconductor UGe2.
Ninety-two gastroepiploic artery (GEA) and 322 internal thoracic (ITA) grafts which underwent postoperative angiography (0.5-24 months, mean 2.0 months) were compared. Nanometre-sized ZnO crystals doped with Co were synthesized by a co-precipitation method combined thermal treatment.
