Abstract Multifunctional materials facilitate lightweight and slender structural solutions for numerous applications. In transportation, construction that can act as a battery, store electrical energy, will contribute to realization of highly energy efficient vehicles aircraft. Herein, multicell battery composite laminate, with three state‐of‐the‐art cells connected in series is demonstrated. The experimental results show the capacity only moderately affected by tensile loading up 0.36%...

Compressive properties are commonly weak parts in structural application of fiber composites. Matrix modification may provide an effective way to improve compressive performance the In this work, property epoxies (usually as matrices composites) modified by different types nanoparticles was firstly investigated for following study on carbon reinforced epoxy Carbon fiber/epoxy composites were fabricated vacuum assisted resin infusion molding (VARIM) technique using stitched unidirectional...

The exposure of recycled concrete (RCA) to a sulphate environment in cold regions makes it crucial overcome the freeze–thaw cycling effects concrete. Based on steel and basalt fiber reinforced concrete, cycle resistance was studied by environment. mass loss, dynamic elastic modulus loss compressive strength specimens were through experiments. SEM techniques used explore effect distribution mechanism exposed has also been summarized. results show that, based environment, composite higher...

The effect of nanosilica contents on mechanical properties the epoxy matrix with some nanoparticle aggregations was studied in macroscopic experiments and nanoscale simulation, particularly regard to effective modulus ultimate stress. Three analytical models were used obtain elastic nanoparticle-reinforced composites. Based Monte-Carlo method, special program for automatic generation 2D random distribution particles without overlapping developed nanocomposite modeling. Weight fractions...

Metro trains running in tunnels cause piston wind, and when a metro train stops tunnel due to fire, the effect of wind on smoke propagation characteristics cannot be ignored. In this paper, theoretical model based unsteady flow theory Bernoulli equation was established describe change speed under fire conditions. The fires were analysed by means numerical simulation. result indicates that has significant distribution. longitudinally ventilated tunnel, whether direction is same as...

The metro engineering is in an environment rich stray current and groundwater, which will accelerate concrete corrosion. In this study, the corrosion of cement-based materials, under current, consisting direct was investigated, effects magnitude, water-binder ratio, fly ash, silica fume on its were analyzed. results show that, as energisation duration increases, mass cathode side leachables compressive strength materials decreases overall; at 120 d ratio 0.50 shows least reduction strength,...

Composite bolted joints are quite necessary for composite structures connection, which has become the main limit use of composites in load-bearing structures. In this article, a fatigue model joint based on equivalent stress is established by programming ABAQUS USDFLD subroutine to simulate progressive failure joints. By introducing three-dimensional Tsai–Hill static criterion, calculated investigating effects multiaxial life. model, life and damage state elements that meshed process...

Abstract To study the effects of graphene oxide (GO), fly ash, and steel fiber on mechanical properties durability concrete, properties, frost resistance, internal pore structure modified concrete are investigated by compression tests, freeze–thaw cycle industrial computed tomography (CT) tests. The test results show that compressive strength with GO is better than mixed only fiber, ordinary concrete. Further, it strongest at all ages when content 0.03%; 30% ash generally 15% 45% ash. In...

Based on Zwick/Roell,this paper had carried flexural experiments of epoxy resin filled with nano-silica particles, obtaining related mechanical properties.Microstructures nanocomposites were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) in the meanwhile. The revealed that nano- silica particles strengthened very well, and modulus modified matrices rised due to rigid compared pure matrices. Flexural strengths epoxies nanoparticles improved significantly.
