The lifetime of a metastable state in the transient dynamics an overdamped Brownian particle is analyzed, both terms mean first passage time and by means growth rate coefficient. Both quantities feature nonmonotonic behaviors as function noise intensity, are independent signatures enhanced stability effect. They can therefore be alternatively used to evaluate estimate presence this phenomenon, which characterizes metastability nonlinear physical systems.
We investigate a stochastic version of simple enzymatic reaction which follows the generic Michaelis-Menten kinetics. At sufficiently high concentrations reacting species, molecular fluctuations can be approximated as realization Brownian dynamics for model kinetics takes on form differential equation. After eliminating fast kinetics, rephrased into one-dimensional overdamped Langevin discuss physical aspects environmental noises acting in such reduced system, pointing out possibility...
The translocation of molecules across cellular membranes or through synthetic nanopores is strongly affected by thermal fluctuations. In this work we study how the dynamics a polymer in noisy environment changes when process driven an oscillating electric field. An improved version Rouse model for flexible has been adopted to mimic molecular dynamics, taking into account harmonic interactions between adjacent monomers and excluded-volume effect introducing Lennard-Jones potential all beads.A...
We present a study of the escape time from metastable state an overdamped Brownian particle in presence colored noise generated by Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. analyze role correlation on enhancement mean first passage through potential barrier and behavior growth rate coefficient as function intensity. observe noise-enhanced stability effect for all initial unstable states used values ${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{c}$ investigated. can distinguish two dynamical regimes characterized weak strong...
This work analyzes numerically the role played by asymmetry of a piecewise linear potential, in presence both Gaussian white noise and dichotomous noise, on resonant activation phenomenon. The features potential barrier arise investigating stochastic transitions far behind maximum, from initial well to bottom adjacent well. Because profile together with random external force uniform space, we find, for different asymmetries: (1) an inversion curves mean first passage time region correlation...
A novel regime of synchronization, called remote where the peripheral nodes form a phase synchronized cluster not including hub, was recently observed in star motifs. We show existence more general dynamical state synchronization arbitrary networks coupled oscillators. This is characterized by pairs that are directly connected via physical link or any sequence nodes. phenomenon almost negligible oscillators as its underlying mechanism modulation amplitude those intermediary between remotely...
The mean first passage time of a Brownian particle from an initial unstable state in metastable system with damping is investigated. analyzed the low to high regime, and role played by parameter studied. We observe noise enhanced stability effect for all states under study values γ curves show behavior vs very close that observed overdamped presence colored as function correlation time.
The study of Planktonic Foraminifera abundances permits to obtain climatic curves on the basis percentage ratio between tropical and temperate/polar forms. Climatic changes were controlled by several phenomena as: (i) Milankovitch's cycles, produced variations astronomical parameters such as precession, obliquity eccentricity; (ii) continental geodynamic evolution orogenic belt; (iii) atmospheric oceanic currents; (iv) volcanic eruptions; (v) meteor impacts. But while have a quasi-regular...
Previous calculations of the equation state symmetric nuclear matter, with inclusion three-hole-line contribution, are extended to densities up about six times saturation value. The performed for Argone ${v}_{14}$ and Argonne ${v}_{18}$ two-nucleon potentials, a larger set partial waves is included. Evidence convergence Bethe-Brueckner-Goldstone expansion, even at relatively high density, presented. contribution diagrams, within continuous choice single-particle potential, turns out be...
We study the time evolution of two ecosystems in presence external noise and climatic periodical forcing by a generalized Lotka-Volterra (LV) model. In first ecosystem, composed competing species, we find induced phenomena such as: (i) quasi deterministic oscillations, (ii) stochastic resonance, (iii) delayed extinction (iv) spatial patterns. second three interacting species (one predator preys), using discrete model LV equations that patterns is strongly dependent on initial conditions species.
Cations are known to mediate diverse interactions in nucleic acids duplexes but they critical the arrangement of four-stranded structures. Here, we use all-atom molecular dynamics simulations with explicit solvent analyse mechanical unfolding representative intramolecular G-quadruplex structures: a parallel, hybrid and an antiparallel DNA parallel RNA, presence stabilising cations. We confirm stability these conformations |$\rm {K}^+$| central ions observe distortions from tetrad topology...
The noise-induced pattern formation in a population dynamical model of three interacting species the coexistence regime is investigated. A coupled map lattice Lotka-Volterra equations presence multiplicative noise used to analyze spatiotemporal evolution. spatial correlation concentration as function time and intensity nonmonotonic behavior area patterns both evolution found.
Transient properties of different physical systems with metastable states perturbed by external white noise have been investigated. Two noise-induced phenomena, namely the enhanced stability and resonant activation, are theoretically predicted in a piece-wise linear fluctuating potential state. The enhancement lifetime due to noise, suppression through activation phenomenon will be reviewed models interdisciplinary physics: (i) dynamics an overdamped Josephson junction; (ii) transient regime...
We propose two recommendation methods, based on the appropriate normalization of already existing similarity measures, and convex combination scores derived from between users objects. validate proposed measures three data sets, we compare performance our methods to other systems recently in literature. show that allow us attain an improvement performances up 20% with respect nonparametric accuracy a can vary widely one specific bipartite network another, which suggests careful choice most...
G-quadruplexes are secondary, non-canonical RNA/DNA structures formed by guanine-rich sequences assembled into four-stranded helical the progressive stacking of G-Tetrads, planar arrangements guanines stabilised monovalent ions such as K+ or Na+. Their stability plays a very important role in prevention DNA degradation, leading to promotion inhibition specific biological pathways upon formation. In this work we study different conformations these through their Free Energy Landscape at...
In this work we study the translocation process of a polymer through nanochannel where time dependent force is acting. Two conceptually different types driving are used: deterministic sinusoidal one and random telegraph noise force. The mean presents interesting resonant minima as function frequency external driving. For computed sizes, scales with length according to power law same exponent for almost all frequencies two forces. dependence rigidity, which accounts persistence molecule,...
We analyze the spatio-temporal patterns of two competing species in presence white noise sources: an additive acting on interaction parameter and a multiplicative which affects directly dynamics densities. use coupled map lattice (CML) with uniform initial conditions. find nonmonotonic behavior both pattern formation density correlation as function intensity.
