The purpose of this study is to investigate the use Izmir (Menderes-Cumaovasi) expanded perlite as a construction raw material by determining its characteristic properties, well physical properties at different temperatures (up 600°C). perlites, having glassy, porous structure, were found contain 70.68% SiO2 and 13.04% Al2O3. perlites changed with temperature. highest surface area, 524 m 2 /g, was obtained 400°C. have high statistical relation. It concluded that aggregates could be used material.
ABSTRACT Flame retardancy of poly(ethylene terephthalate), PET, was improved using different flame retardant additives such as triphenylphosphate, triphenylphosphine oxide, zinc borate, and boron phosphate (BP). Composites were prepared a twin screw extruder subsequently injection molded for characterization purposes. The the composites determined by limiting oxygen index (LOI) test. Smoke emission during fire also evaluated in terms percent light transmittance. Thermal stability tensile...
Abstract Clay minerals are effective adsorbents used for the remediation of toxic heavy metals from wastewater due to their large surface areas and great cation-exchange capacities. In this study, removal lead ions aqueous solutions via adsorption was investigated using raw iron-modified Turkish sepiolite. The aim study examine effects modification environmental conditions on sorptive properties sepiolite samples. Initially, (Sep) magnetic sepiolite/Fe 2 O 3 composite (MagSep) prepared...
Abstract In this study, after the pulse shape calibration of a liquid scintillation counting (LSC) spectrometer (Quantulus 1220), effi ciency was determined depending on sample quenching parameters. Then, gross alpha and beta activities in two spiked water samples obtained from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) were used for validation ASTM D7283-06 method, which is standard test method activity by LSC. Later, drinking (35 tap 9 bottled water) different districts Ankara, Turkey,...
Animal research has demonstrated that boron effects on triglycerides and glucose may act as a metabolic regulator in several enzymatic systems. Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is prevalent obstetrical complication the lack of data maternal status normal/diabetic pregnancies, prompted us to undertake this study.Maternal blood samples were collected during screening diagnosis GDM at 24-28 weeks. Serum lipids (total cholesterol, high-density low density triglycerides, lipoprotein-a,...
It is important to characterize boron containing minerals because of their uses in a wide range applications. The purpose this study Espey colemanite by minerological, petrographical and thermal means investigate the variation its physical properties with temperature (up 600 °C). Colemanite, having non-porous crystalline structure, was found consist 35.8% B2O3 30.5% SiO2. decomposition occurred within 300–600 °C. that calcination, treatment method, influenced colemanite. highest surface...
In this study, zinc borate production in an industrial scale batch reactor was carried out at the optimum process conditions determined previous studies performed laboratory and pilot reactors. The done via heterogeneous reaction of boric acid oxide. samples were characterized by chemical analysis, XRD, TGA, SEM particle size distribution. final product which obtained 2ZnO.3B2O3.3H2O. kinetic data for fit to a modified logistic model where lag time taken into account. As observed, influenced...
Abstract In this study, stable and radioactive lead removal from aqueous solution by adsorption using bentonite, zeolite perlite minerals obtained various locations in Türkiye was studied batch experiments. The adsorbents were first characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD), fluorescence (XRF), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), then the physicochemical properties determined. effects of factors that influence...
Background Modification of titanium dental implants are great interest to enhance osseointegration and may provide successful long-term results. Boron nitride (BN), with its physical properties beneficial effects on bone formation composition, can be a promising material as coating substance Aim/Hypothesis The aim this study was evaluate BN coated both histomorphometrically biomechanically rabbit model. has been two different thicknesses by using RF magnetron sputtering system. Material...
