The compact linear accelerator for research and applications (CLARA) is an ultrabright electron beam test facility being developed at STFC Daresbury Laboratory. ultimate aim of CLARA to advanced free laser (FEL) schemes that can later be implemented on existing future short-wavelength FELs. In addition, a unique provide high-quality novel concepts ideas in wide range disciplines function as technology demonstrator United Kingdom x-ray FEL facility. built three phases; the first phase, or...
A computer based Feature-Recognition (FR) process is being developed to extract critical manufacturing features from engineering product CAD models. Feature-recognition technology used for automating the extraction of data models
The detailed development phase in modern engineering project lifecycles is characterised by the iterative use of a number software tools. Inefficient integration between these tools often results high volume manual data manipulation, for example derivation analysis and manufacturing models from design models. automatic recognition features product geometry has potential to improve efficiency reduce time costs downstream processes Computer Aided Design (CAD) system based design. Abstract Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction methods are described for studying cement hydration chemistry at temperatures up to 200 deg C, covering the normal temperature range of wellbore cementing. The provide complementary information on transformation silicate, ferrite sulphate minerals. thermal decomposition mineral ettringite is shown occur 114 C in a sealed system contact with water. FTIR spectrum well slurry hydrating 150 2000 psi...
This article investigates the ability of sighted and partially to estimate speed vehicles using a new low-vision travel-aid interface. It reports on existing environmental, ‘traditional’ electronic travel aids velocity. Results suggest that observers are able vehicle velocity in physical environment interface, although estimations frequently made with error.

Small, low power instruments have been developed to monitor total-dose and single event upsets (SEUs) in spaceborne electronics. These designed act as continuous monitors on the Science Technology Research Vehicle (STRV) satellite. They will also for other spacecraft orbits where total dose, effects (SEEs) are considered a significant hazard on-board Flight Models of each instrument built interface with satellite computer. This article reports on the ability of observers who are sighted and those with low vision to make time-to-collision (TTC) estimations using video. The TTC made by were comparable observers, both groups underestimation errors that similar previously reported in literature.
