Factors affecting the binding of a wide range lectins to normal human skin were examined in order evaluate current discrepancies literature. The profile specific characteristic for each lectin was found be variously influenced by source conjugate, tissue‐processing method, effectiveness saccharide inhibitors, and individual minor body site variations. Most significantly, use routine histological processing not only greatly reduced intensity overall but also altered pattern.
