This study presents an analytical and experimental method for detecting internal turn-to-turn short circuits both in the rotor or stator salient pole synchronous generator machines (SSGM) connected to local power grid. Two main measurements are proposed confirm discard these electric faults: external magnetic field housing vibrations (EHV). In event of a short-circuit winding fault, correlation between EHV is done reinforce diagnosis. Furthermore, injection dependence analyzed noninvasive...
This paper presents a non invasive method for estimating the energy efficiency of induction motors used in industrial applications. is innovative because it only based on measurement external field emitted by motor. The describes sensors used, how they should be placed around machine order to decouple components generated both air gap flux and winding end-windings. study emphasizes influence eddy currents flowing yoke frame sensor position. During the manufacturing process multi-strand conductors are subject to compressive force and rotation moments. The current distribution in is not uniform controlled by transverse resistivity. This mainly determined contact resistance at strand crossovers inter-strand resistance. surface layer properties, particular crystalline structure degree of oxidation, key parameters determining experimental set-ups made it possible find dependence resistivity as a function continuous working stresses...
This study presents an analytical and experimental method for detecting internal turn-to-turn short circuits both in the rotor or stator Salient-pole Synchronous Generator Machines (SSGM) connected to local power grid. Two main measurements are proposed confirm discard these electric faults: External Magnetic Flux Density (EMFD) Housing Vibrations (EHV). In event of a short-circuit winding fault, correlation between EMFD EHV is confirmed. Furthermore, injection dependency introduced order...
This paper presents an analytical method that makes it possible to define the pulsewidth modulation (PWM) supply output voltage spectral content, particularly harmonic phase sequences, without switching instant determination. The results obtained from these developments lead a PWM control strategy allows deleting some harmonics in order reduce undesirable effects. Numerical studies and experiments confirm theoretical approach this strategy.
During manufacturing of multi-strand cables the conductors are subjected to twisting and pressing which result in a creation contact regions between individual wires. The resistivity such differs from copper or aluminum. In this paper is esta blished by comparing measurements with simulations using finite element method. non-homogeneity imprint has been accounted for presented results show dependence resistance on several parameters, including compression force, depth, intersecting angle...
This paper is about the exploration and analysis of AC rotating machine external magnetic field. An experimental procedure presented: it makes possible to distinguish stator rotor leakage inductances which occur in induction single phase equivalent circuit.
This paper presents a novel method to determine the electromagnetic torque of grid-powered induction machines (IM). The determination constitutes key point for energy diagnosis and choosing well adapted motor in industrial processes. proposed is noninvasive as it based on measurement current magnetic external flux around machines. estimation protocol explained experimental validations are made with an 11 kW IM. impact supply voltage variations accuracy also analyzed.
Abstract The increase of the operating temperature electrical machines is a major challenge in context large-scale use electricity many industrial or individual applications such as mobility. Indeed, working at higher temperatures makes it possible to place actuators critical areas – aircraft engines, for example and/or significantly improve power-to-weight ratio machine. For several (deep pumping, ventilation, etc.), induction machine still preferred due cost, simplicity and robustness...
The paper presents a application of wireless sensor network used to diagnose the efficiency AC electrical machines. It explains functions cell and constraints which makes it real tool for industry. key point energy diagnosis consists in determining electromagnetic torque steady state, taking into account only indications rating plate without measuring voltage or speed. A simple but little-intensive computing technique based on current estimation is presented. specific probe also described,...
In this paper we propose a new method using finite elements modelling to predict the impact of stranding and compacting process on conductor electrical resistance. The experimental work has highlighted complexity physical phenomenon within caused by elastic plastic deformations inters-strands contact reality, performance depends nature material its metallurgical state, mechanical pressure conductance inter-strands areas. For these reasons, models have been developed in Abacus software study...
This study focuses on the external flux in vicinity of AC electrical rotating machines. The influence housing, constituted yoke and clamping-plates, is studied with a finite-element modelling, an analytical model experimental measurements. Two induction machines are analysed; first equipped made cast iron, whereas second aluminium. Those have been instrumented magnetic sensors placed each side flanges border. conclusions this double interest. On one hand, they can be used to understand what...
Purpose In the majority of devices for measuring resistance wires or cables, supplying voltage is applied via some clamping arrangement. Thus, current enters bundle conductors through side surface outside wire. The purpose this project was to establish distance from point after which may be considered uniform and normal cable cross‐section. Design/methodology/approach When passes one wire another, crucial parameter contact region. paper presents a method by region can identified relevant...
This paper is based on a method recently developed by the authors to characterize analytically, without switching angle determination, voltage harmonic three-phase systems generated of PWM inverters. On this basis, it possible define control strategies that modify spectral content output signals. The presented developments are focused carrier phase jump which aims act two harmonics simultaneously controlling effects other components.
