We present perturbation theory results for the Coulomb interactions between electrons, and electrons holes, in small quantum dots. The are used to model both capacitance interband spectroscopy on charge-tunable, self-assembled At level of experimental resolution, currently limited by inhomogeneous broadening dot ensemble, calculations reproduce extremely well.

The few-electron ground states of self-assembled InAs quantum dots are investigated using high-resolution capacitance spectroscopy in magnetic fields up to 23 T. level structure reveals distinct shells which labeled as $s$-, $p$-, and $d$-like according their symmetry. Our measurements enable us resolve the single-electron charging not only lowest $(s)$ state with two electrons but also second $(p)$ four pronounced maxima spectra. Furthermore, peaks at higher energy can be attributed $d$...

Abstract Three derivatization agents used in GC analysis of amino acids were compared: N,O ‐bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide, (BSTFA), N ‐methyl‐ ‐( tert ‐butyldimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (MTBSTFA), and isobutyl chloroformate (iBuCF). It was shown that the analytical characteristics achieved case silylation with MTBSTFA are comparable to those obtained for esterification/acylation. However, since former approach requires laborious sample preparation isolate compounds question prior...

Development of a gene discovery tool for heterologously expressed cytochrome P450 monooxygenases has been inherently difficult. The activity assays are labor-intensive and not amenable to parallel screening. Additionally, biochemical confirmation requires coexpression homologous reductase or complementary heterologous activity. Plant virus expression systems have utilized diverse group organisms. In this study we describe method using an RNA vector system phenotypically screen P450-dependent...

Mass spectra of N(O,S)-isobutoxycarbonyl isobutyl esters 17 amino acids (L-alanine, glycine, L-valine, L-norvaline, L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-norleucine, L-proline, L-asparagine, L-methionine, L-threonine, L-serine, L-phenylalanine, L-lysine, L-tryptophan, L-tyrosine and L-cystine) were obtained in the electron ionization mode. These derivatives found suitable for analysis aqueous media allowing proper identification quantitation from mass spectral characteristics.
