Buckling-restrained braces (BRBs) are commonly used as a kind of energy dissipator in structures, which can be quickly replaced after strong earthquakes. However, there is no reasonable and effective damage assessment method to quantitatively analyze the degree BRB. Since cumulative plastic deformation (CPD) BRB closely related its loading history, CPD reflect low-cycle fatigue life In this paper, two curves BRBs under presented: C-CPD constant strain amplitude (CSA) history R-CPD random...

A type of weld-free buckling-restrained brace is proposed to eliminate the influence welding on low-cycle fatigue performance. The core member manufactured with no weld existing along overall length member. Three welded and three specimens under different strain amplitudes were tested, hysteretic behavior performance analyzed. test results indicate that ductility cumulative plastic deformation are much higher than ones, which closer material capacity.

Abstract A type of precast concrete column base with replaceable energy dissipation connectors (REDCs) is proposed in this study. The bottom the reinforced a square steel tube. REDCs can transfer bending moment during frequent earthquakes and yield to dissipate most inputted seismic major earthquakes. Several raised stoppers are arranged around sides limit lateral slippage. load‐resisting mechanism, construction technology post‐earthquake repair methods introduced. Five quasi‐static tests...

The analysis of the ductility and cumulative plastic deformation (CPD) demand a high‐performance buckling‐restrained brace (HPBRB) under strong earthquake its aftershocks is conducted in this paper. A combination three continuous excitations with same ground motion used to simulate affection aftershocks. six‐story HPBRB frame (HPBRBF) taken as an example conduct incremental dynamic (IDA). seismic responses HPBRBF one, two, constant motions are compared. IDA result indicates that CPD BRBs...

In this study, theoretical and numerical methods were used to research seismic shear distributions of frame-shear wall structures under elasto-plastic conditions. The walls analyzed based on a simplified analysis model flexural shear. Based preliminary project, three groups 2D models with different stiffness eigenvalues designed compare the whole frames. characteristics frames development plastic hinges analyzed, rationality adjustment Chinese standards was discussed from perspectives...

A new type of fabricated concrete frame with replaceable energy dissipation connectors (REDC-FCF) is presented in this paper. The connector (REDC) a kind damping member, which installed under the cover instead ordinary rebars top and bottom beam end. structural construction method REDC-FCF introduced. seismic performance reinforced (RCF) are analyzed compared by time history analysis, responses between two structures contrasted. results indicate that inter-story displacement...

A new type of replaceable energy dissipation connectors (REDC) used to connect the beam and column in fabricated RC frame is presented this paper. The are placed at top bottom ends. Through use REDCs as designated energy-dissipation devices, damage controlled within REDCs, which can be replaced easily after earthquake. This will reduce structural damage, repair cost, time, makes structure more efficient resilient toward future earthquakes. seismic performance concrete with...
