A stable glow plasma at atmospheric pressure has been achieved for treatment under selected conditions, example the structure of electrodes, kind dilute gas, and frequency power. The surface fluorination PET film carbon thin-film deposition by such a is described here. energy can be controlled various concentrations (O2/CF4/He) in same way as lower method that reported Kogoma co-workers (1987). Active species are identified emission spectroscopy.

The hydroxyl radical (OH) plays an important role in plasma chemistry at atmospheric pressure. OH radicals have a higher oxidation potential compared with other oxidative species such as free O, atomic oxygen, hydroperoxyl (HO2), hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) and ozone. In this study, surface discharges on liquids (water its solutions) were investigated experimentally. A pulsed streamer discharge was generated the liquid using point-to-plane electrode geometry. primary generation process of is...

Recently the authors developed an atmospheric-pressure glow discharge plasma method which can be applied to surface treatment and deposition on insulating surfaces for purposes of large-scale system treatment. However, this was not able treat metallic substrates. Consequently, they have improved upper electrode enable metal substrates treated. Some organic films were polymerised by method. Comparison results from with those obtained low-pressure showed no differences in chemical structures...

The effects of additional gas composition on the corona discharge characteristics in a pipe with nozzle electrode system and NOx removal for flue gases are experimentally investigated. consists mixture Na+O/sub 2/+NH/sub 3/ small amount Ar or CO/sub 2/, is introduced to stream from through discharging zone at tip nozzles. results show that modes significantly influenced by mixture. Both NO/sub x/ reduction rate energy yield increase decreasing input power. NO can be optimized type flow...

In order to improve ozone generation, a new type of ozonizer is proposed, where silent discharge and surface are generated in the separated spaces at same time. As applied voltage increased, begins first from inner coil electrode, then occurs gap between glass wall outer cylindrical electrode. It observed that enhanced generation by increases when on electrode becomes active. Hence, improved up 110 g/kWh case N/sub 2/+O/sub 2/ mixture as test gas 274 oxygen gas.

NdFeB sintered magnets are widely used in rotating electrical machines. In order to develop an efficient machine, it is important estimate ac loss of the permanent magnet rotor precisely. this paper, losses IEEJ model (surface permanent-magnet motor model) examined by using three-dimensional finite-element method taking into account newly measured hysteresis magnet. The result shows that we should consider not only eddy-current but also loss, when frequency field due a slot ripple several...

Atmospheric-pressure-plasma nitriding of titanium alloy Ti–6Al–4V has been achieved by using a pulsed-arc plasma jet with N2/H2 gas mixture, where the plume is sprayed onto surface under atmospheric pressure. We successfully formed nitride layer on sample surface. Moreover, diffusion was also formed, hardness which increased from that as-received titanium. The growth found to be diffusion-controlled, as in other conventional methods.
