After herbivore attack, plants express inducible resistance-related traits activated by hormones, mainly jasmonic acid (JA) and salicylic (SA). Methyl jasmonate (MeJa) is a biologically active methyl ester of JA. Exogenous applications JA, SA, MeJa induce responses similar to herbivory insects. In this study, rice, Oryza sativa L. (Poaceae), were treated with two concentrations (2 5 mmol L-1 ), SA (8 16 ) evaluate effects elicitation on resistance the rice stink bug (RSB) Oebalus pugnax...

Abstract BACKGROUND Nanotechnology has recently allowed the production of formulations for controlled release active ingredients. In present study, electrospinning technique was used to produce nanoscale dispensers attract‐and‐kill strategies. Non‐woven nanofibres containing insecticide (cypermethrin) and ( E )‐8,( Z )‐8‐dodecenyl acetate )‐8‐dodecanol (0.87 mg L −1 ), main components Grapholita molesta (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) (Busck) pheromone, were evaluated in laboratory experiments....

Antennal sensilla of Anastrepha fraterculus (Wied.) were examined using scanning electron microscopy. In the flagellum, there are trichoid, basiconic, clavate type I and II, styloconic microtrichia. Only microtrichiae chaetica observed in scape pedicel. The number flagellum was similar between sexes. At apex a higher density trichoid an absence sensilla, while basiconic more abundant proximal region.
