Intraband photoconductivity of high-purity $n$- and $p$-type InSb (${n}_{e,h}\ensuremath{\approx}{10}^{13}$ ${\mathrm{cm}}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$) induced by C${\mathrm{O}}_{2}$ laser radiation has been investigated in magnetic fields up to 20 T, exhibiting a number sharp resonances. These are shown be associated with free-electron LO-phonon-assisted spin-conserving spin-flip transitions as well impurity excitations. Phonon-assisted hole have also observed. The selection rules for intraband...

Nerve cell ensembles growing in culture on microelectrode arrays allow long-term, multisite monitoring of spontaneous and evoked action potential (spike) activity. These generate complex spatio-temporal spike patterns constitute evolving non-linear non-station-ary dynamical systems. They provide effective platforms for observations the "internal dynamics" neuronal networks, especially pattern generation evolution network organization. Nerves cells cultures form many small clusters (termed...

It is demonstrated theoretically that in a small-gap semiconductor with large spin-orbit interaction energy sufficiently strong transverse electric field destroys the Landau diamagnetic quantization but not Pauli paramagnetic of conduction band. In zero-gap HgTe type below critical strength causes crossing electron and heavy-hole levels, thus inducing semiconductor-semimetal transition.

In this work, optical coatings with a gradient of the refractive index are described. Its aim was to deposit, using RF PECVD method, films variable composition (ranging from silicon carbon-oxide carbon-nitride) for smooth change their properties enabling production filter gradient. For that purpose, two organosilicon compounds, namely tetramethyldisilazane and hexamethyldisilazane, were selected as precursor compounds. The results reveal better materials obtained latter source. Depending on...

General properties of the transmission coefficient an ideal, one-dimensional potential barrier arbitrary shape are studied. It is proved that symmetric perfectly transparent for at least one energy in each band related problem, where periodically continued on whole real axis. In this paper, a very large scale integration chip of an analog image weighted-order statistic (WOS) filter based on cellular neural network (CNN) architecture for real-time applications is described. The has been implemented in CMOS AMS 0.8 /spl mu/m technology. CNN-based consists feedforward nonlinear template B operating within the window 3 times/ pixels around central pixel being filtered. CNN coefficients have realized using programmable coupler circuits. WOS allows processing images...
