The Transparent Reporting of a multivariable prediction model Individual Prognosis Or Diagnosis (TRIPOD) statement and the Prediction Risk Of Bias ASsessment Tool (PROBAST) were both published to improve reporting critical appraisal studies for diagnosis prognosis. This paper describes processes methods that will be used develop an extension TRIPOD (TRIPOD-artificial intelligence, AI) PROBAST (PROBAST-AI) tool applied machine learning techniques.

The TRIPOD (Transparent Reporting of a multivariable prediction model for Individual Prognosis Or Diagnosis) statement was published in 2015 to provide the minimum reporting recommendations studies developing or evaluating performance model. Methodological advances field have since included widespread use artificial intelligence (AI) powered by machine learning methods develop models. An update is thus needed. TRIPOD+AI provides harmonised guidance studies, irrespective whether regression...

Background In biomedical research, it is often desirable to seek consensus among individuals who have differing perspectives and experience. This important when evidence emerging, inconsistent, limited, or absent. Even research abundant, clinical recommendations, policy decisions, priority-setting may still require agreement from multiple, sometimes ideologically opposed parties. Despite their prominence influence on key methods are poorly reported. Our aim was develop the first reporting...

The Prediction model Risk Of Bias ASsessment Tool (PROBAST) is used to assess the quality, risk of bias, and applicability prediction models or algorithms model/algorithm studies. Since PROBAST's introduction in 2019, much progress has been made methodology for modelling use artificial intelligence, including machine learning, techniques. An update PROBAST-2019 thus needed. This article describes development PROBAST+AI. PROBAST+AI consists two distinctive parts: evaluation. For development,...

Abstract Background Structured, systematic methods to formulate consensus recommendations, such as the Delphi process or nominal group technique, among others, provide opportunity harness knowledge of experts support clinical decision making in areas uncertainty. They are widely used biomedical research, particular where disease characteristics resource limitations mean that high-quality evidence generation is difficult. However, poor reporting reach a – for example, not clearly explaining...

When research evidence is limited, inconsistent, or absent, healthcare decisions and policies need to be based on consensus amongst interested stakeholders. In these processes, the knowledge, experience, expertise of health professionals, researchers, policymakers, public are systematically collected synthesised reach agreed clinical recommendations and/or priorities. However, despite influence exercises, methods used achieve agreement often poorly reported. The ACCORD (ACcurate COnsensus...

One of the fundamental principles health research integrity is that methods and results should be completely transparently reported. Clear, detailed reporting allows reader to understand how a study was designed conducted, judge reliability its findings reproducibility methods, use tested interventions in their clinical practice.1-3 The way which are reported, therefore, can have direct impact on patients' lives.4 As late Professor Douglas Altman said, 'Readers not infer what probably done,...

Abstract Background Although medical journals endorse reporting guidelines, authors often struggle to find and use the right one for their study type topic. The UK EQUATOR Centre developed GoodReports website direct appropriate guidance. Pilot data suggested that did not improve manuscripts when advised a particular guideline by GoodReports.org at journal submission stage. User feedback checklist format of most guidelines does encourage during manuscript writing. We tested whether providing...
