A 76-year-old woman with hypertension was admitted to the hospital complaints of chest pain and dyspnea. An echocardiogram pulmonary computed tomography angiography showed right atrial myxoma complicated thromboembolism. operation resect embolism recommended; however, patient refused discharged anticoagulation therapy. Two years later, she developed Radiological studies echocardiography similar results previous findings. The underwent mediastinotomy resection embolectomy. As there are few...

Pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) is a life-threatening disease with high mortality. This study aimed to assess the outcomes of surgical embolectomy and clarify sustained long-term effects surgery by comparing preoperative, postoperative, follow-up echocardiography outcomes. Of 22 survivors, 21 were followed up for mean (median) period 6.8±5.4 years (4.2 years). We retrospectively reviewed 27 cases massive or submassive acute PTE from 2003 2016. Immediate assessed on basis 30-day mortality,...

Transient myocardial ischemia during cardiac surgery causes a loss of energy sources, contractile depression, and accumulation metabolites H+ ion resulting in intracellular acidosis. The reperfusion following ischemic cardioplegia recovers pH, activates Na+-H+ exchange Na+-Ca2+ transports consequently produces Ca2+ overload, which yields cell death. Among the various entry pathways, exchanger is known to play one major roles ischemia/reperfusion cardioplegia. Consequently, information on...

A 51-year-old male was admitted to the hospital with complaints of fever and hemoptysis. After evaluation focus, he diagnosed pulmonary valve infective endocarditis. Thus replacement antibiotics therapy were performed discharged. He brought emergency unit presenting a high (>39℃) general weakness 6 months after initial operation. The echocardiography revealed prosthetic Therefore, redo-pulmonary using valved conduit in Rastelli fashion because risk arterial wall injury recurrent endocarditis...

It has been proposed that Ca(2+)-activated K+ channels play an essential role in maintaining vascular tone during stretch of blood vessel. However, the underlying mechanism stretch-induced change channel activities are still unknown. The present experiment was designed to investigate effect membrane on these whose activity measured from rabbit coronary smooth muscle cells using a patch clamp technique. were identified by their Ca2+ and voltage dependencies its large conductances as other...

He was admitted to Yeungnam University Hospital because chest pain, dyspnea, orthopnea nonproductive cough. Chest x-ray suggested effusion. 2-D echocardiography showed echo free spaces massive effusion areas thick hyperrefractile echoes arising from the pericardium.
