The presence of Cabassous tatouay in Brazil is well documented the southern (Santa Catarina, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul), southeastern (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais), and midwestern (Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso Sul, Goiás) regions. There are no records this species north, limited information exists about its distribution northeastern Brazil.
