For decades, embalmed cadavers have played an important role in teaching anatomy to the scientists and doctors of future. Most departments use a traditional formaldehyde-based embalming method, but formalin makes bodies very rigid, which limits their usefulness for procedures other than dissection. A more recent method developed by W. Thiel has allowed these "silent teachers" take on further applied research teaching: act as models surgical training medical research.
Abstract Educational research on learning styles has been conducted for some time, initially within the field of psychology. Recent widened to include more diverse disciplines, with greater emphasis application. Although there are numerous instruments available measure several different dimensions style, it is generally accepted that differ, although qualities than one style may be inherent in any learner. But do these have a direct effect student performance examinations, specifically forms...
Mixed reality (MR), a technology which supplements the real world with virtual objects, is increasingly becoming available as teaching tool in medical education. The Microsoft HoloLens device allows operators to experience MR using head-mounted without interfering their physical reality, stimulating realistic learning objects. This project aimed develop anatomy application for exploring of temporal bone. educational was developed from multidisciplinary collaboration between undergraduate and...
Thiel‐embalmed cadavers, which have been adopted for use in anatomy teaching relatively few universities, show greater flexibility and color retention compared to formalin‐embalmed properties might be considered advantageous teaching. This study aimed investigate student attitudes toward the dissection experience with Thiel‐ formalin/ethanol‐embalmed cadavers. It also determine if one embalming method is more terms of learning functional through comparison anterior forearm knowledge. Student...
Abstract Background Existing studies have explored many aspects of medical students’ experiences patient death and propose the importance faculty support for coping. However, UK-based literature on this subject research concerning learning through reflection as part coping are relatively limited. This study, lens reflection, aims to explore students' with in a UK context. These include strategies, from following relationship between these learning. Our questions were: How do students cope...
Forward head posture (FHP) is one of the most common postural deviations. Deep neck muscle imbalance individuals with FHP primary concern in clinical rehabilitation. However, there scarce quantitative research on changes deep length moving forward. This study aimed to investigate different severity levels FHP. Six Thiel-embalmed cadavers (four males and two females) were dissected, 16 muscles each cadaver modeled by a MicroScribe 3D Digitizer neutral posture, slight FHP, severe The...
Objective To investigate the scope of academic spam emails (ASEs) among career development grant awardees and factors associated with amount time spent addressing them. Design A cross-sectional survey investigators via an anonymous online was conducted. In addition to demographic professional information, we asked report number ASEs received each day, how they determined whether these were per day We used bivariate analysis assess on ASEs. Setting An sent email three separate occasions...
Body donation is a prosocial act providing unique learning experience to students, ultimately impacting on patient care and science. With an increasing number of training professionals, there need for body donors, yet little understood about donors' beliefs preferences. A four-center study aimed understand perceptions, 843 responses highlighted significant relationship between completing donor consent form being both organ having ever donated blood (p < 0.01). In exploring intentions, 69%...
To measure knowledge of and experiences with self-managed abortion among seekers in Indiana before the Supreme Court decision Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization (Dobbs). Between June 2021 April 2022, we recruited a non-probability sample residents any age who were currently or recently pregnant considering via online advertisements, referrals from funds, flyers clinics. Participants completed two surveys 1 month apart, subset in-depth interviews. We conducted descriptive regression...
Teaching exodontia to novice undergraduates requires a realistic model. Thiel-embalmed cadavers retain the flexibility of soft tissues and could be used teach exodontia. The objective was determine whether were perceived more model by in comparison with mannequins.Over period 4 years (2011-2014), students randomly assigned into two groups: those taught on mannequins only (NT) who also experienced cadaveric teaching (T). This followed an assessment. There 174 T group 108 NT group. Sixty-five...

Importance
In May 2019, new federal regulations regarding Title X funding were introduced. There has been no formal evaluation of the impact this regulatory shift as it pertains to minors' access services.
Objective
To explore geography federally funded clinics providing confidential reproductive care adolescents following changes regulations.
Design, Setting, and Participants
This retrospective cross-sectional study used a population-based sample US Census tracts....
Spatial perception is an essential skill for professional dentists. The objective of this study was to observe the spatial ability, as well anatomy module grades, dental students at a education center in Indonesia and relate these gender cohort.A cross-sectional carried out where years (cohorts) 1, 2, 4-6 were invited take Revised Purdue Visualization Test (PSVT-R) redrawn Vandenberg Kuse Mental Rotation (MRT) order assess ability. In addition, 1st- 2nd-year gross assessments. ability test...
For product details see http://www.primalpictures.com Modern computer graphic technology has led to an increasing demand for e-learning resources, especially in anatomy, a visual subject where true three-dimensional learning the form of dissection been replaced many universities. There are several anatomical programmes or applications on market, but according its website, company Primal Pictures was set up with express purpose creating accurate and detailed model human body, based medical...
Abstract Teaching and learning anatomy by using human cadaveric specimens has been a foundation of medical biomedical teaching for hundreds years. Therefore, the majority institutions that teach topographical rely on body donation programmes to provide both undergraduate postgraduate gross anatomy. The COVID‐19 pandemic posed an unprecedented challenge because suspension donor acceptance at most institutions. This was largely due concerns about potential transmissibility SARS‐CoV‐2 virus...
Abstract Background This study explored the rewards and difficulties of raising an adolescent investigated parents’ level interest in receiving guidance from healthcare providers on parenting health topics. Additionally, this whether parents were interested programs primary care methods which want to receive guidance. Methods Parents adolescents (ages 12–18) who attended outpatient pediatric clinic with their contacted by telephone completed a short survey. asked open-ended questions...
