The ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider is used to search for high-mass resonances decaying dielectron or dimuon final states. Results are presented from an analysis of proton-proton (pp) collisions a center-of-mass energy 8 TeV corresponding integrated luminosity 20.3 fb-1 in channel and 20.5 channel. A narrow resonance with Standard Model Z couplings fermions excluded 95% confidence level masses less than 2.79 channel, 2.53 2.90 two channels combined. Limits on other model...

Measurements of charged-particle fragmentation functions jets produced in ultra-relativistic nuclear collisions can provide insight into the modification parton showers hot, dense medium created collisions. ATLAS has measured $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76$ TeV Pb+Pb at LHC using a data set recorded 2011 with an integrated luminosity 0.14 nb$^{-1}$. Jets were reconstructed anti-$k_{t}$ algorithm distance parameter values $R$ 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4. Distributions transverse momentum longitudinal fraction...

This paper presents a summary of beam-induced backgrounds observed in the ATLAS detector and discusses methods to tag remove background contaminated events data. Trigger-rate based monitoring beam-related is presented. The correlations with machine conditions, such as residual pressure beam-pipe, are discussed. Results from dedicated beam-background simulations shown, their qualitative agreement data evaluated. Data taken during passage unpaired, i.e. non-colliding, proton bunches used...

Simultaneous measurements of the t¯t, W+W−, and Z/γ∗→ττ production cross-sections using an integrated luminosity 4.6 fb−1 pp collisions at √s=7 TeV collected by ATLAS detector LHC are presented. Events selected with two high transverse momentum leptons consisting oppositely charged electron muon pair. The three processes separated distributions missing events zero greater than jet multiplicities. Measurements fiducial cross-section presented along results that quantify for first time...

In the Higgsless models, there are extra gauge bosons which keep perturbative unitarity of a longitudinally polarized boson. The three-site model is minimal and contains three bosons, ${W}^{\ensuremath{'}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ ${Z}^{\ensuremath{'}}$. this paper, we report discovery potential ${Z}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ boson via Drell-Yan production with $(\mathrm{\text{mass}}=380,500,600\text{ }\text{...

We present a search for technicolor particles decaying into $b\bar b$, c$ or u$ and produced in association with $W$ bosons $p\bar p$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}= 1.96 \mathrm{TeV}$. The uses approximately $1.9 \mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of the dataset accumulated CDF II detector Fermilab Tevatron. select events matching + 2-jets signature require least one jets to be identified as $b$-quark jets. In this paper, we introduce an intelligent pace-car in traffic flow for the purpose of controlling cars that follows a pace-car, and show it is possible to reduce phantom congestion. Pace-car manages its velocity control following flow. The management strategy acquired by reinforcement learning. We employ extended Nagel-Schreckenberg model, kind cellular automaton model proposed our group, because generates metastable phase on fundamental diagram. As result, successfully achieve transition...

The Micro Pixel Chamber ( μ -PIC) has been developed for a hadron-collider experiment. main purpose is detecting Minimum Ionizing Particles (MIP) under high-rate Highly (HIP) environment. In such an environment, sufficient gain to detect MIP needed, but continuous sparks will be caused by HIP. To reduce sparks, cathodes are made of resistive material. this report, sputtered carbon was used as new cathode. Gas >10 4 achieved using 55 Fe source. This value without GEM or other floating...

This paper describes the concept, technical realisation and validation of a largely data-driven method to model events with Z→ττ decays. In Z→μμ selected from proton-proton collision data recorded at √s=8 TeV ATLAS experiment LHC in 2012, Z decay muons are replaced by τ leptons simulated Zarrowττ decays level reconstructed tracks calorimeter cells. The lepton kinematics derived original muons. Thus, only well-understood boson as well detector response products obtained simulation. All other...
