Clove essential oil (CEO) was extracted from dried clove buds using distillation. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometer confirmed eugenol the main component of CEO. Assays minimum inhibitory and bactericidal concentration revealed CEO displayed more potent effect against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) than Escherichia coli (E. coli). Crystal violet MTT assays suggested could interfere with fresh biofilm formation reduce cellular activities S. E. coli. Transmission electron microscopy...
In this study, the influence of ultrasound irradiation on characterization and bioactivities polysaccharide from blackcurrant fruits (BCP, molecular weight: Mw = 3.26 × 104 kDa) was investigated. Two degraded polysaccharides (U-400, 1.89 kDa, U-600, 1.32 were obtained by different powers 400 W 600 W, respectively. Compared with BCP, U-400 U-600 showed 63.52% 68.85% reductions in particle size (Zavg), respectively; moreover, dynamic viscosity BCP reduced 27.88%, 33.63%, separately. The...
Abstract A novel microfabricated device that integrates a monolithic polymeric separation channel, an injector, and interface for electrospray ionization‐mass spectrometry detection (ESI‐MS) was devised. Microfluidic propulsion accomplished using electrically driven fluid flows. The methacrylate‐based medium prepared by photopolymerization had positively derivatized surface to ensure electroosmotic flow (EOF) generation of analytes in capillary electrochromatography (CEC) format. injector...
