Chigger mites of Iran have been revised based on examination type materials in the collection Zoological Museum Moscow University and reference data. Hitherto, 85 species trombiculids were recorded Iran; synonymy, diagnoses, data depositories specimens, lists hosts localities are given for each species. Original measurements holotypes or paratypes provided 46 Four new combinations proposed: Ornithogastia merops (Vercammen-Grandjean, Rohde Mesghali, 1970) comb. nov., transferred from...
Makolia crimeaensis Saboori, Khaustov & Hakimitabar gen. et sp. nov. (Acari: Erythraeidae) is described and illustrated from larvae ectoparasitic on Lasius (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) Ukraine. A key to world genera of Erythraeinae (larva) presented the genus Zhangiella Cobanoglu Bayram synonymised with Curteria Southcott.
Thaitrombidium calomerium Hakimitabar & Saboori sp. nov. (Acari: Prostigmata: Neothrombiidae), collected as an ectoparasite on Calomera fischeri (Adams, 1817) (Coleoptera: Cicindellidae) from Taleghan City, Alborz province, Iran, is described and illustrated based morphological characters of the larvae. This first report since 1998 when two species were described. The host time recorded for genus. Also, we redefine new data present a key to Thaitrombidium.
Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae) and Bemisia tabaci Gennadius (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) are major pests in greenhouse crops. Recently, Amblyseius swirskii Athias-Henriot Phytoseiidae) was shown to be an effective biological control agent of both pests. Therefore, the prey preference A. determined using immature stages T. B. three various treatments based on Manly's β index (β). These consisted two species (egg, first second instar nymphs) with densities 12:12, 6:6 3:3,...
Two new mite species of Leptus Latreille, 1796 (Acari: Erythraeidae) are described and illustrated based on their larval stages. All mites were collected from grasshopper hosts (Orthoptera: Acrididae) during surveys in the Zagros Mountains Iran. This study is part a more extensive survey Parasitengona fauna diverse terrains along this mountain range, one global biodiversity hotspots. (Leptus) mallahae Kiany, Seiedy & Hakimitabar sp. nov. was parasitizing Oedipoda miniata (Pallas, 1771),...
Charletonia talebii n. sp. (Acari, Erythraeidae) is described and illustrated from ectoparasitic larvae on nymphs adults of undetermined Cicadellidae (Heteroptera) Jahrom, Iran. We present a key to larval species that have two setae between coxae II III.
Amblyseius swirskii Athias-Henriot (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is an effective predator feeding on different insect and mite pests such as whiteflies, thrips two-spotted spider mites. In this study, we documented the life table of A. eggs Tetranychus urticae Bemisia tabaci under laboratory conditions (25 ± 1°C, 70 5% RH 16L: 8D). The results indicated that developmental times egg, larva, protonymph deutonymph stages were 1.36 0.07, 1.23 1.43 0.08 2.49 0.14 days when fed T. 0.95 0.02, 0.96 0.04,...
Leptus (Leptus) mahtabae sp. nov. (Acari: Erythraeidae), collected as an ectoparasite of Mesobuthus rakhshanii (Scorpiones: Buthidae) from Sistan and Baluchestan province, southeast Iran, is described illustrated based on the morphological characteristics larvae. The position solenidia Ti II Charletonia damavandica Karimi Irvanlou, Kamali & Talebi, 2002, corrected.
Achaemenothrombium cyrusi gen. et sp. nov. (Acari, Prostigmata: Trombidioidea) is described and illustrated from larvae ectoparasitic on Catocala (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) Tehran, Iran talebii (Karimi Irvanlou & Kamali, 2001) comb. redescribed. A new family, Achaemenothrombiidae proposed for accommodating this genus. key to families of larval Trombidioidea species (larva) presented.
The cheyletid mites collected from Guilan province in Northern Iran were investigated. A total of 16 species determined. Of these, Eucheyletia flabellifera (Michael, 1878) is a new record for the Iranian mite fauna. Herein, we provide an expanded description, including illustrations adult female this based on material. tabulated checklist recorded also provided.
Abrolophus montenegrinus Saboori, Šundić & Pešić sp. nov. and petanovicae sp.nov. are described illustrated from larvae on grasses (no host arthropod) Montenegro. New data for some other species provided.
Leptus (Leptus) pouryayevalii sp. nov. (Acari: Erythraeidae), collected by shaking the leaves of weeds on white tray (off host) from Koushk Bala village, Chalous road, Alborz Province, Iran, is described and illustrated based larva. This species belongs to sudanensis group hospeticus subgroup which can be identified following characters: TFe I without solenidion, Ge with two solenidia.
Neosilphitrombium tenebrionidum sp. nov. (Acari: Neothrombiidae) is described and illustrated from larvae ectoparasitic on Opatroides punctatus Brullé, 1832 (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) Mashhad Gonabad, Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran. It the first report of representatives genus Iran record family Tenebrionidae as a host for Neosilphitrombium. A key to world larval species presented.
