Abstract Nowadays, research on additive manufacturing of Ti6Al4V alloy is growing exponentially but there are just a few studies about metal matrix composite components. In this work, highly reinforced composites with SiC particles have been additively manufactured by direct laser deposition (DLD). powder and deposited layer to form an thin wall structure. The geometry, microstructure, microhardness the samples strongly influenced scanning speed used during de fabrication process. addition,...

Disulfide containing vitrimers are being widely studied to get renewable, reprocessable and self-healable resins. The most of them based on thermally cured epoxy resin. Herein, new thermoset systems typical acrylate monomers with photo-curing were synthesized self-healing capabilities by introducing disulfide bonds. These groups able exchange upon heating, leading a renewal the crosslinks across damaged surfaces. Different ratios associative reversible covalent bonds have been studied....

This study shows that WC-12Co coatings with low porosity and high wear corrosion resistance can be applied by velocity oxygen-fuel (HVOF) on a melting highly flammable ZE41 magnesium alloy. provides novel promising use of the high-energy thermal spraying technique temperature substrates. The distance used was 300 mm, which is between two three times recommended distanced for HVOF coating steels. Despite this, obtained were homogeneous, crack-free, dense. very well adhered to substrates...

Industry has a growing need of advanced coatings for variety applications (aerospace, special machinery, medicine, etc.). Nanostructured have the potential providing novel materials with enhanced properties. This paper describes results recent research on wear-resistant nanostructured coatings. Cermet (WC–Co) and ceramic (Al2O3–TiO2) were obtained by atmospheric plasma spraying. Coating microstructure phase composition characterized using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray energy-dispersion...

In this article, a preliminary microscale study of brazed joint two materials that will conform the future fusion reactors is carried out. Tungsten act as plasma-facing material attached to structure made some reduced activation ferritic-martensitic steel (Eurofer-like steel). The proposed brazing process introduces copper filler and develops thermal in high vacuum atmosphere at 1135 °C for 10 min. resultant microstructure characterised by forming diffusion layer contact with tungsten base...

Ti6Al4V is the most used alloy for implants because of its excellent biocompatibility; however, low wear resistance limits use in biomedical industry. The additive manufacturing (AM) a well-established technique that being many fields. However, AM composites currently under investigation, and manufacture using laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) would result great benefit industries. one-step novel concept proposed uses gas-controlled L-PBF system enables layers with different compositions. Six...
