This paper presents a new method based on digital image processing to realize the real-time automatic vehicle speed monitoring using video camera. Based geometric optics, it first simplified accurately map coordinates in domain into real-world domain. The second part is focused detection frames stream. Experiment shows requires only single camera and an onboard computer can simultaneously monitor speeds multiple lanes. detected speed's average error below 4%.
