Every year, for ten years now, the IPIN competition has aimed at evaluating real-world indoor localisation systems by testing them in a realistic environment, with movement, using EvAAL framework. The provided unique overview of state-of-the-art systems, technologies, and methods positioning navigation purposes. Through fair comparison performance achieved each system, was able to identify most promising approaches pinpoint critical working conditions. In 2020, included 5 diverse off-site...
The African continent is currently experiencing rapid population growth, with rising urbanization increasing the percentage of living in large towns and cities. We studied impact degree on genetics Plasmodium falciparum urban peri-urban areas around city Brazzaville, Republic Congo. This field setting, which incorporates local health centers situated varying urbanization, interest as it allows characterization malaria parasites from where human, parasite, mosquito populations are shared, but...
We introduce MetaPo, a mobile robot with spheric display, 360° media I/O and robotic hands for creating unified model of interspace communication. MetaPo works as portal between pairs physical-physical, cyber-cyber cyber-physical spaces to provide 1) panoramic communication multiple remote users, 2) immersive migration mobility functionality. The paper overviews our concept first prototype its hardware software implementation.
Although activity recognition has been studied considerably for the last two decades, it is still not so easy to handle complicated classes in a specific domain. The 2nd Nurse Care Activity Recognition Challenge Using Lab and Field Data aims explore part of those activities by focusing on nurse caring. Our team, "UCLab", found that main problem challenge imbalance unevenness dataset, each which often happens real-field data. Considering problem, we approached using Random Forest-based method...
In this paper, we describe about a manner of adapting the nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) method to medical data, especially functional independence measure (FIM) and its experimental results. From results which were obtained by applying actually measured data in hospital, confirmed that NMF was effective analyze patients' characteristics related disability recovery tendency.
In this demonstration paper, we present the RHS360, a 360-degree robotic hand system designed to facilitate communication across spatial domains. The RHS360 is capable of providing continuous alignment between user's position in cyber space and hand's position. Furthermore, it allows users reposition accommodate their movements within space. Our not only enables communication, including gestures, through use but also provides essential social cues that are crucial effective communication.
The rise of diverse digital environments like twins and the metaverse emphasizes importance telepresence methods for linking users across different spaces. These aim to boost communication services between these This paper introduces RHS360, a 360-degree robot hand system designed inter-spatial communication. RHS360 ensures aligns precisely with user in cyberspace, adjusting based on user's movements virtual realm. enables not only aid gestures but also convey crucial social cues, enhancing...
With the introduction of IoT, communication is becoming more diverse. While IoT and widespread, there are some forms human being lost. The development self-propelled robots has progressed, electric automated wheelchairs also utilized. A caregiver was originally required to operate a wheelchair. However, with advent wheelchairs, can be operated by wheelchair users only, increasing convenience. On other hand, have been used as kind between caregivers users, reduced opportunities for users. In...
