This study proposes using two-color pressure-sensitive paint (PSP) to measure the pressure distribution of a model exposed shockwave. PSP was chosen over traditional techniques because wired connection may affect flight dynamics, and an onboard transducer weight distribution. Additionally, allowed for consistent measurement despite motion model. An unsecured 10 mm diameter cylinder coated in placed into blast tube. The then shockwave, subsequent flow results were recorded high-speed color...

Pressure-sensitive paint (PSP) has received significant attention for capturing surface pressure in recent years. One major source of uncertainty PSP measurements, temperature dependency, stems from the fundamental photophysical process that allows to extract information. The motion-capturing method, which involves two luminophores, is introduced as a method reduce measurement due dependency. A theoretical model dependency proposed and demonstrated using static with an applied gradient....

The present study focuses on the challenges of capturing surface pressure data a free-flight object in ballistic range facility. There are four main challenges: (1) shooting an aerodynamic model range; (2) trajectory; (3) luminescent images during flight; and (4) obtaining distribution from images. Prior work has been successful with first two challenges; this will focus methods to overcome third fourth using two-color pressure-sensitive paint (PSP). Using PSP allows implementation...

A new and unique method of proton computed tomography is proposed. Integrated electron-density distributions along a few tens parallel paths are obtained at once by precisely measuring the energies incident outgoing protons. The energy measured magnetic spectrometer. With this method, CT with high density resolution, spatial lower dose can be realized in short scanning time.

Abstract Misfit layer compounds consist of two sublattices that are incommensurately modulated. These have the structures cubic monochalcogenide and transition‐metal dichalcogenide monolayers. In this work, a semiconducting misfit compound (LaS) 1 . 20 CrS 2 is synthesized by chemical vapor transport. absence intervening LaS layers, does not exist in stable state. Using thin flakes obtained mechanical exfoliation, field‐effect transistors fabricated. The devices show n‐type transport...

The motion-capturing TSP-heater system on a pitching airfoil was developed. TSP method captures surface temperature under motion, while conventional intensity requires separate measurement of reference image. A two-color and sprayable graphene-based heater coating were newly developed for the system. Through calibration, sensitivity determined as -2.66%/°C. As demonstrations application system, measurements at 0° 20° AoAs performed 10m/s free stream velocity.
