In the Dornogobi Aimag region of Southern Mongolia, main source groundwater contamination by U, As, and Se is hydrogenic- or sandstone-type uranium deposits. These environmentally hazardous deposits, located in close proximity to populated settlements, pose a serious threat drinking water quality human health. Fifty samples were analyzed levels found be elevated deep shallow waters (200 34.7 μg/L, respectively), with nearly 25% exceeding World Health Organization (WHO) guideline level for...

ABSTRACT The geological map L-47-V at a scale 1:500,000 covers part of Mongolian Altaids with ophiolite fragments in southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt SW Mongolia. This region has basin and range topography Neoproterozoic Palaeozoic units exposed NW–SE trending ranges rising along major intracontinental faults intermontane basins filled by Mesozoic Cenozoic sediments between. shows clear N–S tectonic zonation featuring the northerly Precambrian Baidrag microcontinent, lower Lake Zone...

This study determines the properties of hot spring waters and associated rocks, calculates reservoir temperatures depths in Mongolian Altai region, constructs a conceptual model for geothermal water based on these results. The springs consist HCO 3 –Na, SO 4 –SO –Na mixed waters. They exhibit alkaline pH levels range 21.3–35°C. X-ray diffraction analyses outcrop rocks reveal silicate carbonate-type minerals such as quartz, albite, orthoclase, dolomite, mica actinolite, while correlation...

A geological map is an indispensable tool for understanding the structure of Earth's crust but high-quality maps are usually lacking in remote areas mountainous Central Asia covered by vast deserts. The progress sensing and geographical information system (GIS), as well advancement analytical methods, have generated new challenges producing modern such regions. presented 1:50,000 along Sagsai River summarizes more accurate data from geologically interesting region at contact supracrustal...

At present, geochemical data are widely used for reconstructing geodynamic settings, especially, volcanic rocks of mafic composition, i.e., basalts, because they widespread in many orogenic belts and indicative different environments. In general, we propose the reconstruction tectonic settings basalts according to their relationships with associated ocean plate stratigraphy (OPS) sediments, petrogenesis features.

The Uyanga ore knot district of the Khangay metallogenic zone are hosted by lower-middle Devonian volcanogenic-sedimentary Erdenetsogt formation. About 40 samples were collected from host rocks, veins and quartz in 2016. new Burgetei, Ult Senjit gold occurrences studied. quartz-sulfide, gold-arsenic gold-antimony-mercury mineralization determined berecitization, silicification, limonitization glauconization altered metasomatic zones within districts. rocks formation have an irregular...

The Khangay-Khentey belt is located in central Mongolia (Central Asian Orogenic Belt). Uyanga ore knot district of the Khangay metallogenic zone are hosted by lower-middle Devonian volcanogenic-sedimentary Erdenetsogt formation. new Burgetei, Ult and Senjit gold occurrences were studied. rocks formation have an irregular content: 0.96 g/t Au determined quartz vein (BG-7/16), content highest up to 3.5 quartzite-jasper (Ult-7/16 Ult-9/16) cut veins occurrence. occurrence represents Au-Hg-Sb...

In this paper, we have conducted geochronological and geochemical studies on the metamorphic rocks of Khaychingol Ereendavaa Formations in Mogoitiin Gol, Khaychin Gol Emgentiin Bulag areas from terrane these been considered to be Precambrian age. However, new LA–ICP–MS zircon U–Pb dating results indicate that protolith studied was formed two stages: 1) during ~ 296 - 285 Ma, mafic, felsic black schists formed; 2) ~276 271 gneiss psammitic began deposit.
