Hypoxic damage to retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells and subsequent neovascularization are key factors in the pathogenesis of branch vein occlusion (BRVO). Naringin (NG), a naturally occurring flavanone glycoside, has demonstrated significant antioxidant anti-neovascular activities. However, regulatory effects mechanisms NG on ferroptosis BRVO yet be explored. Our study aimed investigate protective RPE under hypoxic stress elucidate underlying molecular mechanisms. findings revealed that...
Abstract Large rotating magnetocaloric effect (MCE) has been observed in some single crystals due to strong magnetocrystalline anisotropy. By utilizing the MCE, a new type of rotary magnetic refrigerator can be constructed, which could more simplified and efficient than conventional one. However, compared with polycrystalline materials, high cost complexity preparation for hinder development this novel refrigeration technology. For first time, here we observe giant MCE textured DyNiSi...
Abstract Magnetic refrigeration based on magnetocaloric effect (MCE) has become a promisingly alternative technology to the conventional vapor‐compression refrigeration. A great number of magnetic materials have been reported exhibit larger MCE than that benchmark refrigerant Gd. However, these still severe shortcomings “Non‐MCE” properties, such as hard preparation and fabrication, low thermal conductivity λ, poor corrosion resistance cycling stabilities, which hinder practical application...
Abstract Wisdom is the hallmark of social judgment, but how people across cultures recognize wisdom remains unclear—distinct philosophical traditions suggest different views wisdom’s cardinal features. We explore perception wise minds 16 socio-economically and culturally diverse convenience samples from 12 countries. Participants assessed exemplars, non-exemplars, themselves on 19 socio-cognitive characteristics, subsequently rating targets’ wisdom, knowledge, understanding. Analyses reveal...
The mechanical properties and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of bonded La(Fe, Si)13 hydrides have been studied in detail. strength increases with increasing the grade epoxy resin from E-20 to E-51. This occurs because more pores boundaries are filled high since epoxide content degree crosslinking reduces viscosity shrinkage resin. compressive reaches 162 MPa for LaFe11.7Si1.3C0.2H1.8 3 wt. % E-51, which is 35% higher than that bulk LaFe11.7Si1.3C0.2 compound (120 MPa). mass ΔSM values remain...
Low grade waste heat accounts for ~65% of total heat, but conventional recovery technology exhibits low conversion efficiency recovery. Hence, we designed a thermomagnetic generator such applications. Unlike its usual role as the coil core or big magnetic yoke in previous works, here magnetocaloric material acts switch that controls circuit. This makes it not only have advantage flux reversal pretzel-like topology, also present simpler design, lower stray field, and higher performance by...
The crystal structures of Gd5Rh4 and GdRh have been studied by powder single x-ray diffraction. results show that is isotypic with Pu5Rh4 the bond length short Rh-Rh dimer 2.943(4) Å. According to heat capacity measurements in zero magnetic field, ordering temperature 13 K, agreement magnetization measurements. Both peak shape positive slope Arrott plots at Curie (TC) indicate second-order nature transition. dependence measured 1 kOe applied field indicates noncollinear may change into...
The cyclability and frequency dependence of the adiabatic temperature change (ΔTad) under an alternating magnetic field (AMF) are significantly important from viewpoint refrigeration application. Our studies demonstrated, by direct measurements, that low-magnetic-field performance ΔTad in FeRh alloys can be largely enhanced introducing second phases. a 1.8 T, 0.13 Hz AMF is reduced 14%, which much better than (40-50%) monophase previously reported. More importantly, introduction phases...
The Ni2MnGa-based Heusler alloys with high magnetocaloric effect have attracted considerable attention as a promising magnetic refrigerant. phase-transition processes and entropy changes in the NiMnGa concurrence of structural phase transitions were studied. ac susceptibility results showed transition occurred during reverse martensitic Ni55.5Mn20Ga24.5 alloy direct from ferromagnetic matrensitic to paramagnetic austenitic Ni54.9Mn20.5Ga24.6 alloy. When field had changed 2 T, comparable...
Magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of intermetallic HoNiSi compound have been investigated systematically. It is found that exhibits antiferromagnetic (AFM) state below the Néel temperature TN 3.8 K, which quite close to liquid helium (4 K). A giant MCE without hysteresis loss observed in HoNiSi, related field-induced first-order metamagnetic transition from AFM ferromagnetic states. For a magnetic field change 2 T, maximum values entropy (−ΔSM) adiabatic (ΔTad) are 17.5...
Abstract To enhance the near‐infrared detection capability and broaden response spectrum of single‐carrier‐transport‐based multiplication‐type organic photodetectors (PM‐OPDs), a quaternary heterojunction strategy based on double donors receptors is employed. The PM‐OPDs with configuration ITO/PEDOT:PSS/Active‐layer/Al are meticulously fabricated. experimental results revealed that optimized P3HT:PTB7‐Th:PC 61 BM:Y6 (40:60:3:2 wt/wt/wt/wt) achieved wide spectral from 300 to 980 nm. Under...
