We discuss the restframe UV emission from starbursting galaxy HFLS3 at z=6.34, discovered in Herschel/SPIRE data due to its red color submm wavelengths 250-500 um. The apparent inst. SFR of inferred total FIR luminosity measured with over 15 photometric points between 100 1000 um is 2900 Msun/yr. Keck/NIRC2 Ks band adaptive optics imaging showed two potential NIR counterparts near HFLS3. Previously, northern was taken be foreground z=2.1 while southern assumed HFLS3's counterpart. New...
We present Keck-Adaptive Optics and Hubble Space Telescope high resolution near-infrared (IR) imaging for 500 um-bright candidate lensing systems identified by the Herschel Multi-tiered Extra-galactic Survey (HerMES) Astrophysical Terahertz (H-ATLAS). Out of 87 candidates with near-IR imaging, 15 (~17%) display clear morphologies. lens models to reconstruct recover basic rest-frame optical morphological properties background galaxies from 12 new systems. Sources largest magnification factors...
We present the rest-frame optical spectral energy distribution and stellar masses of six Herschel- selected gravitationally lensed dusty, star-forming galaxies (DSFGs) at 1 < z 3. These were first identified with Herschel/SPIRE imaging data from Herschel Astrophysical Terahertz Large Area Survey (H-ATLAS) Multi-tiered Extragalactic (HerMES). The targets observed Spitzer/IRAC 3.6 4.5um. Due to spatial resolution IRAC observations level 2 arcseconds, lensing features a background DSFG in...
We present Hubble Space Telescope Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) imaging and grism spectroscopy observations of the Herschel-selected gravitationally lensed starburst galaxy HATLASJ1429-0028. The lensing system consists an edge-on foreground disk at z = 0.218 with a nearly complete Einstein ring infrared luminous 1.027. WFC3 G102 G141 grisms, covering wavelength range 0.8–1.7 μm, resulted in detections Hα + [Nii], Hβ, [Sii], [Oiii] for background from which we measure line fluxes ratios. Balmer...
We describe the search for Lyman break galaxies (LBGs) near submillimeter-bright starburst galaxy HFLS3 at z = 6.34 and a study on environment of this massive during end reionization. performed two independent selections LBGs images obtained with Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC) Hubble Space Telescope (HST) by combining nondetections in bands blueward color selection. A total 10 objects fulfilling LBG selection criteria were selected over 4.54 55.5 arcmin2 covered our HST GTC images,...
