A new method for determining the soluble silicon (Si) concentrations in nonliquid plant and mineral samples was developed using sodium hydroxide (NaOH)–hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) matrix microwave digestion (MWD-Na) followed by colorimetric Si testing.
