Due to methodological changes in the work of Sakhalin Branch Federal Research Center “Geophysical Survey Russian Academy Sciences” (SB FRC GS RAS), it became necessary clarify transition relationships between energy characteristics earthquakes region used for magnitude unification catalog. To obtain relationships, a sample period from 2017 October 2024 was database “Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk” regional information processing center, which is part SB RAS. Using generalized orthogonal regression...
On November 25, 2013, at 03:23 UTC, an earthquake with a magnitude of МwGCMT=5.2 was recorded in the Laperuz Strait water area. This strongest south Sakhalin Island 2013. Parameters have been determined by data seismic stations regional network GS RAS Sa-khalin branch, global IRIS (GSN) and Hokkaido University. Earthquake parameters on are accordance international seismological centers. The intensity concussions some areas 4–5 points scale MSK-64 3 JMA island Hokkaido. focus shift has...
The review of seismicity for Sakhalin in 2013 based on the data four seismic stationary stations and 10 temporary digital "DAT", working south Sakhalin, is given. main parameters 688 earthquakes focal mechanisms five them are determined. 42 showed a macroseismic effect. maps representativeness epicenters given, distribution crust deep magnitude their summarized energy seven seismoactive districts presented. For each area, conditions described. region can be characterized as moderate....
The review of the annual seismicity Kurilo-Okhotsk region is submitted. Parameters 863 earthquakes are determined by records four Kuril stations. Their distribution hypocenter depth given. maximal has made h=620 km in 2013. on magnitude and their summarized energy areas map epicenters, together with focal mechanisms for 23 earth-quakes shown. For each area, seismic conditions described.
Abstract We present the first seismic model of crust beneath Sakhalin based on P and S‐wave arrival time data from local earthquakes. Based results numerous synthetic tests, we conclude that this has fair horizontal vertical resolution to 20–25 km depth. At shallow depths, anomalies are clearly associated with known geological structures, such as high‐velocity Paleozoic Susunai block low‐velocity Cenozoic fold belts along West Mountains. In sections, observe westward underthrusting a...
The review of seismicity Amur and Primorye in 2013 according to the data permanent seismic sta-tions’s network Sakhalin branch GS RAS is presented. Maps representative registration earthquakes (Mmin), epicenters explosions are Distributions shallow by T.G. Rautian energy classes КR, deep-focused magnitude MPVA shown; total amount released six seismoactive areas given. results observations after-shock activity Skovorodino earthquake on October 14, 2011 (M=6.2) Seismicity recorded compared...
This article presents an overview of the seismicity southern part Russian Far East, comprising Primorsky Krai, Sakhalin and Amur oblasts including Kuril-Okhotsk, based on preliminary data from earthquake catalogues branch Federal Research Center "United Geophysical Survey Academy Sciences", obtained in 2019.A brief description regions over past year is provided, showing its level comparison with previous years indicating strongest most seismically interesting earthquakes. In terms seismicity,...
Earthquake focal mechanisms in the Southern Kuril-Kamchatka and Northern Japan subduction zones were analysed to investigate features of tectonic stress field inside Pacific lithospheric plate subducting into upper mantle. mechanism (hypocenter depths more than 200 km) taken from 1966– 2018 NIED, IMGiG FEB RAS GlobalCMT catalogues. The was reconstructed by cataclastic analysis method, using a coordinate system related plate. In most parts studied seismic zone, axis principal compression...
The article contains a description of the seismicity Amur region, Primorye, Kuril-Okhotsk and Sakhalin regions in 2018.The paper shows modern registration capabilities branch Federal Research Center United Geophysical Service RAS (SF FRC UGS RAS), Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.We describe strongest earthquakes most felt by inhabitants region. The focal mechanisms strong events are presented, assumptions about nature their source made.It is shown that 2018 for territory was relatively calm, although...
The paper presents an overview of the seismicity southern part Russian Far East for 2020: Amur–Primorye region, Sakhalin and Kuril-Okhotsk regions. It is based on preliminary data from earthquake catalogs Branch Federal Research Center “United Geophysical Survey Academy Sciences” (SB FRC UGS RAS). An analysis regions 2020 in comparison with previous decade performed. Information about earthquakes 2020, which are most significant worthy separate study, given. These events occurred SB RAS...
