Iron(II) and manganese(II) complexes of N'-(1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene)nicotinohydrazide (LH) have been synthesized characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structure the ligand has determined single X-ray diffraction electronic spectroscopic techniques. Crystal data for LH, C13H12N4O: Orthorhombic, space group Pbcn (no. 60), a = 18.0824(3) Å, b 7.86555(14) c 16.1614(3) V 2298.60(7) Å3, Z 8, T 103 K, μ(Mo Kα) 0.093 mm-1, Dcalc 1.388 g/cm3, 36729 reflections...

Using cobalt(II) as a metal centre with different solvent systems afforded the crystallization of isomorphous metal-organic frameworks {[Co(34pba)(44pba)]·DMF}n (1) and {[Co(34pba)(44pba)]·(C3H6O)}n (2) from mixed 4-(4-pyridyl)benzoate (44pba) 3-(4-pyridyl)benzoate (34pba) ligands. Zinc(II) under same reaction conditions that led to formation 1 formed an isostructural {[Zn(34pba)(44pba)]·DMF}n framework (3). Crystal structures all three MOFs were elucidated their thermal stabilities...

The reaction of Cd(NO3)2·4H2O and Zn(NO3)2·6H2O with the bipyridyl dicarboxylate ligand H2bpydc (2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid) afforded two porous metal organic frameworks [Cd(bpydc)2(DMF)2·2DMF]n (JMS-3) [Zn(bpydc)(DMF)·DMF]n (JMS-4). X-ray diffraction studies revealed that both JMS-3 JMS-4 crystallize in monoclinic crystal. MOFs possess 2D interdigited networks (sql) topology. Sorption showed activated phase had CO2 volumetric uptakes 26.50 30.89 cm3 (STP) g-1 (1.18 1.39 mmol...

Double-walled pyridylbenzoate MOFs display an order/disorder phase transition on solvation/desolvation. This allows the to retain structural integrity over multiple sorption cycles.
